Ipsy March ‘Tres Jolie’🎀

This month’s bag is a classy, light pink with a black net-like design on the front with a rose gold zipper. I really like this one, it’s different and can fold back up to become an extra big makeup bag!

🎀Doucce Freematic Eyeshadow Marisa

This is a single shadow from Doucce’s Freematic line where they have a selection of matte and shimmer shadows to build your own quad palette ($35). The shade Marisa is a rosy-gold color and is pretty soft when applied dry but becomes very opaque and almost metallic looking when applied wet. The shade is pretty however, unless applied wet the gold flecks spread easily and get into the crease.

🎀Elizabeth Mott Blending Brush ($15)

This is a cruelty-free, vegan brush with synthetic fibers. It feels sturdy and good quality-the bristles are very soft yet pick up a lot of product and just makes for a perfect crease brush.

🎀Tarte Tarteist Quick Dry Matte Lip Paint Delish ($20, for full size)

This liquid lipstick in Delish is described as a rosy mauve color, it’ll suit many people and is perfect for day or night wear. The formula of this liquid lipstick is thin, dries fast, and actually very comfortable. It didn’t dry out my lips and lasted awhile before beginning to fade in the inner part of the lips.

🎀Model Co. Eye Define Crayon Liner ($14, for full size)

This retractable black eyeliner is cruelty free and vegan and described as highly pigmented, water resistant formula, and with a soft, silky texture. It is quite pigmented and doesn’t rub off easily even with water but, the texture is pretty stiff and I had a hard time getting a pigmented upper eyeliner even with squishing the tip down. It glided on the water line a lot easier, though I hardly wear eyeliner in the water line.

🎀Mudmasky Facial Detox Purifying Recovery Mask ($74, for full size)

This detox mask is made to refine, brighten the skin while keeping it hydrated and smooth. You are supposed to apply a thin layer and leave it on for: 7 min/dry skin, 9 min/normal-combo skin, 11 min/oily skin. It’s great that they give us this info so that each person can cater to their skin type’s needs. The mask is very thin and a little rough to apply with the granules it has in it but it dries quickly and removes easily. My skin did feel purified without the dryness that most leave behind. They also say to wait 10 min. to apply moisturizer.

Wet n Wild Photo Focus Foundation ▫️Review

  • $5.99-1 fl. oz/30 mL
  • 20 shades
  • Lightweight, thin consistency
  • Medium-High medium coverage

Wet n Wild says: Your skin, only better. Our new high-performing, skin-perfecting foundation underwent major road testing under seven different photo lighting conditions to deliver flawless camera-ready makeup every time. Specially made with a matte, light-diffusing complex to give your skin #nofilter perfection.

Product: This foundation comes in a glass bottle with a plastic spatula applicator. There are 20 shades in the line but unfortunately most stores I’ve been to carry about 10 shades. It has a runny texture and so doesn’t dry right away. The best tools I’ve used to apply this has been a beauty blender or flat-topped buffing brush such as the Elf Powder brush and the Real Techniques Expert Face brush.

Application: I’ve been using this foundation for weeks now and I love it! It feeels very lightweight when applied yet gives me high medium coverage. I’ve been able to also spot conceal pretty well. I’ve been wearing this over primer with no powder and get about 6 hours wear-even gone kayaking and was shocked with how nice my foundation still looked! I have combo/dry skin and have never really gotten oily while wearing this foundation. I didn’t really test the claims about photo lighting, but most reviews I’ve read say it does looks nice in photos and different lighting.

Overall I was really impressed with this new foundation–packaging and finish, and I was looking for something more affordable to use everyday that still gave good coverage. It’s definitely worth a try if you are looking for a simple, everyday foundation!

Wet n Wild Spring 2017 Queen of My Heart ♥️⚜️♥️

Wet n Wild’s Spring Collection for 2017 had arrived in stores! I always look forward to their limited edition Spring/Summer/Fall collections and to seeing the new products! This year’s spring collection has soft, romantic colors with some golds and browns to create a complete eye look. They’ve also included highlighters, a lip palette (missing from display), cheek + lip tints, and a kabuki brush.

  • 3  Coloricon Eyeshadow Palettes ($2.99): Heiroglyphic Heart, Will You Marina Me, Heart and Heavy
  • 2 Megaglo Highlighting Powders ($4.99): Lilac to Reality, The Sweetest Bling
  • Kabuki makeup brush ($3.99)
  • 3 Megaglo Cheek & Lip Tints ($4.99): Crush Upon a Time, Flirt on the Street, Kiss Me If You Can
  • Perfect Pout Lip Palette ($5.99)

Both highlighters are just so pretty to look at! I was really excited to try these out and they did not fail! They’re opaque, buildable, and have no chunky glitters.

    🌷Lilac To Reality

Lilac to Reality is a trendy holographic lavender/light bluish shade that’s very unique and pigmented. You have to use a light hand with this one if you want it to be more wearable but it easily builds up very brightly. Pictures just don’t do this one justice!(outer portion, heart portion, mixed, mixed swatched w/brush)

    🌷The Sweetest Bling

The Sweetest Bling is a light, sort of muted pink. This color is also pretty unique and I think will suit many skin tones, it’s definitely softer than Lilac to Reality but buildable. It just looks beautiful applied and I find myself using this everyday lately-may need a backup!(outer portion, heart portion, mixed, mixed swatched w/brush)

    🌷Hieroglyphic Heart

This trio contains a yellow gold browbone shade, a matte mauve crease shade, and a brown w/gold shimmer eyelid shade. The colors are soft and pigmented and can create a really pretty romantic eye look.

    🌷Will You Marina Me

This trio contains a paler yellow gold browbone shade, a mauve-gold brown crease shade, and an aqua blue eyelid shade, also soft and pigmented. This will work great for spring and summer!🌷🌷🌷

So that is what I picked up from the Queen Of My Heart collection! I would definitely recommend getting the highlighters. The eyeshadow palettes are great also, and I know I always take Wet n Wild palettes when I’m doing my makeup on the go!

    🖤Ipsy February “Much Love”🖤

▫️Elizabeth Mott Whatup Beaches Matte Bronzer ($25, for full size)

I’ve been receiving a lot of bronzers lately! This bronzer/contour is a medium cool-toned matte brown shade and the formula is extremely soft to the touch. It’s buildable and blends easily however this shade would definitely work better for fairer skin tones so I had to build it up a bit. This could also be used as an eyeshadow, but as far as a bronzer/contour it didn’t wow me so much. (color is actually cool toned medium brown)

    ▫️NYX Butter Lipstick Lifegaurd ($6)

The Nyx Butter lipsticks are described as a delicate satin texture fused with highly saturated color. It is definitely very smooth and pigmented with a slight sheen. Lifeguard is a darker  classic red that suits every skin tone. This won’t be a long-lasting lipstick though and will need to be reapplied after eating.

    ▫️IBY Beauty Highlighter Bubbly ($12)

This highlighter is soft and pigmented and is a really pretty light pinky-gold color which swatches more pink than when applied. It’s buildable and adds a natural glow to the face.

    ▫️Luxie Beauty 514 Blush Brush ($18)

Luxie Beauty brushes are vegan and cruelty-free with synthetic bristles. I have two other brushes from Luxie and I think they perform very well and are well-made. I also love the rose gold and pink handle, as well as the soft bristles. I’ve used this brush to apply highlighter and for touching up foundation with powder.

▫️Promise Organic Nourishing Coconut Milk Daily Facial Scrub with Walnuts & Sugar ($9.99, for full size)

This is a gentle exfoliator for normal to combination skin made with organic ingredients. This scrub smells amazing and is very gentle while still exfoliating and deep cleaning the skin.

    Indigo Rd ▫️ Cray Sneakers

I’ve been searching for dressier sneakers that can go with any outfit and be dressed up or dressed down, I also love the flatform style that’s been popular lately. I came across this pair on the Macy’s website from the brand Indigo Rd and instantly fell in love with this shoe! After purchasing I searched and found no reviews or pictures for these shoes so I decided to do one in case anyone was thinking of purchasing and wanted some extra insight!Indigo Rd is a shoe brand “inspired by a rich American heritage and the desire to discover and wander” and they carry a variety of boots, heels, flats, etc. in a really unique, boho style I really love. The collection is not available to purchase on their website however, but informs you on where you can find a specific shoe. (DSW, Macy’s, Francesca’s…)The Cray Lace-Up Sneaker in Slate: (on sale until 2/26, Macy’s online-$22.12, orig. $59.00) is faux-suede with a rubber traction sole and a 1″ platform. It was also available in black, light blue, and ivory (a lt. camel)-the color slate is a light greige color and has a nice weight to it but is not too heavy. It also looks and feels very well made and the 1-inch platform is the perfect height for someone who wants that flatform look, without the height being too much. It’s a very comfortable wear and goes with almost anything- I think a shoe like this is a staple in anyone’s wardrobe as it is stylish yet comfortable and adds a little height. I’m absolutely loving these shoes right now and I’m so tempted to buy the Ivory color!

▪️It Cosmetics Bye Bye Under Eye Illumination Medium ($24, for full size)

This is described as a full coverage, anti-aging waterproof concealer with added radiance for a lit-from-within glow and there are 4 shades in the line. I have the original Bye Bye Under Eye and didn’t love it because it did crease a lot on me. This too has a thicker, sticky formula and so you don’t want to use too much, although this one didn’t crease on me at all. Medium was actually quite light and has a pinkish hue to it which is great for covering grayish/dark spots, but for my undereyes I like using a peachy concealer better. I did like this for covering some dark spots on other areas of my face. (All product swatches at end).

▪️Pacifica Blushious Coconut & Rose Infused Cheek Color Wildrose ($12)

This blush is described as a soft, sheer, universally flattering shade. The formula is also of course 100% vegan and formulated without carmine, FD&C color, parabens, or petroleum. I so far haven’t liked any powder Pacifica products I’ve received from Ipsy-eyeshadows, highlighter, because they had barely any pigmentation. Although this is a sheer formula, I really like the subtle blush and glow it gives…you don’t need to apply highlighter when you apply this blush. It looks very natural and is perfect for an everyday light flush and glow. I’m also in love with the unicorn packaging🦄.

▪️Pur-lisse Blue Lotus Seed Mud Mask + Exfoliant ($52, for full size)

This mask is described as a 10 minute facial for all skin types to gently resurface, detoxify, brighten, tighten, and smooth and contains many beneficial ingredients (see pic below). Its consistency was quite thin, dried quickly and contains rice granules which exfoliate the skin as well. The first time I applied this, it burned the skin around my mouth and nose for a minute or two, the second time was fine. The only noticeable difference I noticed right away was that my skin felt softer, but a mask needs a couple of weeks to see any real differences in the skin.
▪️The Balm Bahama Mama Bronzer ($20, for full size)

This is a much loved product in the beauty community but this is the first time I’ve actually used it. This bronzer is a cool-toned, medium matte brown that can be used as contour and eyeshadow as well. The formula is very soft and opaque and it worked really well for my skin tone as a contour- I like using a cool-toned color to achieve a very natural contour.
▪️Temptu BASE Smooth & Matte Primer ($35, for full size)

This primer is described as a perfect canvas formula to create a poreless and matte finish, diffuses imperfection and combats shine to make makeup last. I really like the consistency, it feels like a sort of moisturizer-oil hybrid and leaves my skin feeling soft and nourished. This didn’t do much for me as far as creating a ‘perfect canvas’, I’ve been using it for more than a week and it’s performed just alright. I’ve definitely used primers that I can see right away make my foundation look flawless and this one was just not working for me.
