Ipsy July “Over Easy”✖️✖️🍳

This month’s theme and bag is lazy summer and features Gudetama a newer character by Sanrio, some other Sanrio characters being Hello Kitty, Chococat, and My Melody. I think this bag is really cute and quirky and I love the products I received! I’m also seeing some different brands this month which is a great change. 🍳

✖️Trestique Concealer Crayon Bisque ($26, for full size)
This is described as a long-lasting, gel-like cream concealer stick and it definitely does have a creamier texture. It’s very pigmented, has really good coverage, and hasn’t creased in my undereye area. So far I’m loving this concealer!

✖️Laritzy Cosmetics Long Lasting Liquid Lipstick Nudes ($24)

This is a matte liquid lipstick that at first has a very thin, sort of slippery texture but quickly dries down matte. It’s not very uncomfortable, but does have that powdery feeling which I don’t really like. The color Nudes is a light nude pink color and this shade is literally my exact lip color, but I actually really like this lipstick. According to their website, this lipstick is limited edition and this is actually the only matte liquid lipstick they have on their website.

✖️Nomad x Stockholm Illuminated Highlighting Powder Midnight Sun ($36, for Nomad x Stockholm Palette)

This highlighter is actually part of a 9-piece makeup set by Nomad Cosmetics called the Stolkhom Palette. It is currently on sale on their website. This highlighter has a very soft texture and is very pigmented with no glitters in it and is a universal champagne shade.

✖️Ciate Wonderwand Gel Khol Liner Black ($18, for full size)

This eyeliner is described as having the blendibility of a kohl, with the intense high coverage pigment of a gel. It is a bit more pigmented and smooth than the typical pencil liner. On the other end of this pencil is an angled brush with thin but soft brsitlesto smoke out your eyeliner. Most smudging eyeliner bring a sponge end, but this brush worked really well to precisely smudge out the line nicely.

✖️Tarte Rainforest of the Sea Deep Diving Cleansing Gel ($25, for full size)

This brightening and waterproof makeup remover cleansing gel contains the Rainforest of the Sea complex, allantoin, provitamin B5, Indian gooseberry extract, and lavender oil to smooth the skin, soften and protect, reduce the appearance of fine lines, etc. I’ve only used this sample a couple of times and it left a nice, clean feeling without drying out my skin. With skin care you need to use a product a good couple of months to notice any real results.

✖️Everyday Makeup Bag✖️

For everyday, simple and quick makeup or when I’m doing my makeup on-the-go I noticed I tend to use the same products that work really well for me. I switch a couple of things out depending on the occasion. I’ve also been using this Ipsy bag because not only is it cute but it’s a lot bigger than most makeup bags and can fit everything  I need and a couple of brushes too! Here’s what’s inside✖️

For moisturizer/primer I’ve been switching out between the Naked Advanced Aloe Cream and the Hanalei Aloe Soothing Gel. These both also work really well under foundation.

For everyday foundation I’ve been using the Wet n Wild Photofocus Foundation-its lightweight yet gives me good coverage. If I need my foundation to last longer or need fuller coverage I carry my Clinique Beyond Perfecting Foundation.

For a long time now the L.A. Girl Pro Concealer is the only concealer I’ve been using. It’s one of the only ones that don’t crease underneath my eyes and it’s so affordable!

This Absolute New York HD Eyebrow Kit looks worn out for a reason. My favorite eyebrow formula is powder and this kit includes two shades and an eyebrow wax, but it also has a mini angled brush and spoolie which many kits don’t include.

I have a couple of favorite, bulkier contour shades I like, however this Elizabeth Mott Whatup Beaches is the perfect size to carry and is also a perfect cool-toned matte shade.

I’ve been loooving highlighters lately but I tend to switch out between these two in my makeup bag; Urban Decay Afterglow and Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector Opal. They are mini sizes, but also are the perfect champaigne shade that go with any look.

I don’t wear blush that often but when I do, the one I like bringing is this City Color Cosmetics Trio. The shades are all very different and pigmented and the packaging is very slim and lightweight.

These are my go-to liners that I use everyday and they are both dark brown shades which for me is a much softer look. The felt tip liner is one from the Ulta brand and the pencil is the Essence Long Lasting Eye Pencil. Compared to some higher end liners I’ve tried, these don’t smudge or move around on me at all.

Eyeshadow is another step I skip over a lot especially if I’m in a hurry but I like to carry this duo from Pixi by Petra or a Wet n Wild palette for any easy eye look. Most palettes definitely cannot fit in a makeup bag so if I’m going to be doing my makeup somewhere else I’ll just carry whatever palette I’m using.

Right now I’m using this Smashbox Full Exposure mascara; the wand is a pretty simple shape but actually works really well to curl and separate my lashes.

I really love the mauve-y nude lip colors on my skin tone and these have been my favorite lately; Flower Lip Velvet Mauve Over, NYX Simply Nude Sable, and Pacifica Power of Love.

For my foundation I mostly use the Real Techniques Expert Face Brush, for highlight and contour I use the Luxie Beauty Flat Foundation Brush and E.L.F Small Tapered Brush.

Ipsy June “Volume Up”🖤💥💋

The bag this month is a really pretty, classy-looking makeup bag, definitely smaller than last month’s however. Unfortunately this isn’t the most positive Ipsy review…I’ve been getting great stuff lately, but this month fell a little flat for me.

💋NYX Whipped Lip & Cheek Soufflé Plush ($6)

This is a lip and cheek color in a nude pink color. The formula is a light, whipped formula that I don’t care too much for but what I really don’t like is the color. It’s a very cool-toned light pink that just doesn’t look good on my skin tone. Ipsy was also sending these out in a nude-brown color that would’ve been perfect for me. I really wish when it comes to lip products/concealers that they would let us pick the color that way we can actually use and enjoy the products. As a blush, it blends easily and is thin, but needs to be built up. Would I Repurchase? No, even if I did like the color, I don’t like the thin, slippery consistency this formula has.

💋Skyn Iceland Glacial Face Wash with White Willow Bark ($30, for full size)

Formulated with the purest Icelandic glacial waters and beneficial botanicals, this mild cleanser detoxifies and purifies without stripping skin of its natural moisture. This cleanser has a very pure, clean scent and foams easily so a little goes a long way. It left a very clean feeling without drying out my skin at all. Repurchase? Maybe, I love skincare and the full size of this would last a long time, I have to continue using this product to really see what it does for my skin.

💋Doucce Maxlash Volumizer Mascara ($22, for full size)

The creamy buildable formula is clump-resistant, flake proof, smudge proof, and resistant to sweat and humidity. I haven’t tried this mascara yet but I loved the last mascara from Doucce I received (Boombastic Lash Volumizer).

💋City Color Cosmetics Shimmer Shadow Cheers to Life ($3.99)

This line of eyeshadows from City Color Cosmetics are described as a heavy metallic finish and a cream-powder hybrid. They are very soft and very pigmented. Now I don’t like single eyeshadows because I forget to use them-but I also have this exact gold color repeated so many times from Ipsy! I get that this is a universal shade, but I’m sure many people are tired of receiving this color. Repurchase? No, I like the formula and how pigmented it is, but I just don’t like single eyeshadows.

💋Makeup Forever Aqua XL Eye Pencil Matte Black ($21, for full size)

This eyeliner promises to be water proof, long-wearing, and ultra resistant. It has a very creamy, yet precise texture and is very pigmented. Edit: I wore this on my top eyelid (tightline) and it ended up  smudged underneath my eyes not too long after! It was a hot day, but I definitely didn’t expect that to happen. It’s probably better suited as an eyeliner for the top lid. Repurchase? No, I liked this eyeliner but I love my holy grail Essence eyeliners that work great and don’t smudge on me!

💥SwatchesThe NYX swatch comes off here as a rosy mauve but it’s actually a very light nude pink.

Becca Glow on the Go Highlighter Set ✨

Product: This is the Becca Glow on the Go Shimmering Skin Perfector Duo in Opal. I purchased this awhile ago but see that it is still being sold in Sephora, Ulta, Jcpenny stores and Becca’s website. It contains deluxe-sized samples of Becca’s much loved Opal highlighter.  The packaging is travel-friendly but still comes with quite a lot of product. This is a great and more affordable way to test out the formulas of two types of highlighters that Becca sells. Opal is that universally flattering light-gold, champagne color.

  • Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed Opal (0.085 oz./2.4 g.) – $38, full size
  • Shimmering Skin Perfector Spotlight Wand Opal (0.17 oz./4.8 g) – $41, full size
  • $20
  • Available at Sephora, Ulta, Becca (website)

Application: The Shimmering Skin Perfector (pressed) is opaque, has a soft texture, and is buildable. It has slight shimmer (no glitter) and gives a natural glow that can build up to be stronger. I noticed it fading after about 6 hours of wear. The Shimmering Skin Perfector Spotlight (liquid) is a lightweight, buildable, creamy texture with a beautiful glowy finish (no shimmer or glitter). This formula leaves a “lit-from-within” glow that looks very natural, perfect if you want a glow but don’t want it to be obvious that you are wearing highlighter. It has a perfumey smell which I don’t mind and I actually really love this formula because of the natural glow it gives the skin without being over the top which I definitely don’t want everyday.

Ipsy May “Summer Friday”☀️🌴🕶

This month’s summer themed bag is a plastic, water-resistant bag with little cute ice creams all over it. It’s actually pretty big which is great and can even fit makeup brushes in!

🍦Mellow Cosmetics Creamy Matte Lipstick Nude ($13)

These lipsticks are described as being highly pigmented, rich in formula, and long-wearing. It comes in the bullet-style tube and has pretty cream and gold packaging. The lipstick itself also feels quite heavy which always gives a product a more luxurious feel. Nude is sort of a dusty, mauve color that is very pigmented and comfortable on the lips. Would I repurchase? Yes, I love the packaging and formula!

🍦Urban Decay Afterglow 8-hr Powder Highlighter Sin ($26, for full size)
This highlighter is described as a finely-milled, lightweight, creamy formula. Sin is a light champagne color and has a very soft, sort of powdery texture. It’s very pigmented but looks natural and leaves a beautiful glow. Repurchase? No, it was a bit too powdery, and felt like it sat on my skin the more I built it up.

🍦Royal & Langnickel Moda Precision Angled

I love receiving makeup brushes! You can never have too many and they always send really nice ones. This brush doesn’t have too much of a description other than it has synthetic fibers and is 100% vegan. It’s a little too big to be used as an eyeshadow brush so I’ve been using it for under eye concealer. It would also be great for contouring. Repurchase? I couldn’t really find how much this brush was, but the quality was great and based on the prices of similar brushes on their website they look affordable as well!

🍦Global Beauty Care Charcoal Wash Off Mask 1 oz. ($4.99, for 5 oz.)

This is a 15 minute mud-based, deep cleansing mask made to gently draw out deep dwelling dirt, oil, and impurities from your clogged pores and lifts away dead skin cells without over drying. I received this same mask in Dead Sea Salt awhile ago and both have that same mud mask consistency and color, and smell the same. It takes time to see if a mask works for you or not, and even though this isn’t full size, I’ve gotten many, many uses out of my Dead Sea  one and still have a good amount left so this will last awhile. Repurchase? Yes, I love masks and the ones from this brand perform really well and are very affordable!
🍦Grande Cosmetics Mascara Lash Boosting Formula ($24.95)

This mascara claims to provide extreme volume while nurturing and conditioning lashes with its peptide infusing formula for healthier lashes. The brush looks like a standard dome shaped brush, but I can’t use this one just yet-I have a few open mascaras I’d like to get through first.

Flower Beauty Shimmer & Strobe Highlighting Palette|Lip Suede Velvet Lip Chubby Review🌷

Flower Beauty says: “Shine on, FLOWER girl! Master strobing, the new face sculpting technique, with our Shimmer & Strobe Highlighting Palette. Dab on the soft shimmery shades, and sculpt your face with light for a refined, natural looking glow. The soft-focus, silky powders deliver a multi-dimensional radiance for a luminous complexion. Our three universal stoning shades are ideal to make any skin tone beam with radiance.

  • $12.98/Walmart
  • 0.28 oz./8 g.
  • 3 powder highlight shades
  • Soft, opaque, metallic-like finishes
  • Cruelty-free

Product: This is the Shimmer & Strobe Highlighting Palette from Flower Beauty which is sold online and in Walmart stores. First off, I love all of Flower Beauty’s packaging! This palette is white and rose gold with sturdy packaging and along with 3 shades brings a fluffy, angled brush. There’s a cool-toned champagne shade, a rosy shade, and a light gold shade.

Application: These highlighters are VERY pigmented and soft. They have a beautiful (metallic?) finish-no glitters here and blend out beautifully. It also easily builds up or blends out for a more natural looking glow. I actually really like the brush that is included, it’s fluffy, picks up a lot of product, and blends easily. The Luxie Precision Foundation brush also applied this nicely. The rosy and gold shades were actually my favorites and just went really well with my skin tone. This is definitely one of the most pigmented highlighters I’ve tried and I highly recommend trying this out!(It’s appears more subtle in the pictures than in real life, you can also see the shade differences a little more)

Flower Beauty says: Luxurious non-drying lip color with silky, satin-matte finish. Formulated with papaya and orchid hydrating complete moisturizer, smooth, and beautify.

  • $7.98/Walmart
  • 0.09 oz./ 2.7 g.
  • 5 shades available
  • Free from fragrance, talc, D5, and parabens, cruelty-free
  • Satin matte finish

Product: This is the Lip Suede Velvet Lip Chubby in Mauve Over. To me mauve is a more of a rosy-brown color and this is a sort of a neutral pink color. It comes in the standard retractable chubby lip crayon packaging and always great to keep in your bag to easily apply anywhere.

Application: The formula of this lipstick is very opaque and smooth with a matte, but comfortable finish with no scent at all which is great. This stayed on while drinking but will eventually fade when eating. The color is actually very close to my own lip color which is perfect for daily basis wear and isn’t very obvious when it fades.

🌷Let me know if you’ve tried either of these products!
