Becca Glow on the Go Highlighter Set ✨

Product: This is the Becca Glow on the Go Shimmering Skin Perfector Duo in Opal. I purchased this awhile ago but see that it is still being sold in Sephora, Ulta, Jcpenny stores and Becca’s website. It contains deluxe-sized samples of Becca’s much loved Opal highlighter.  The packaging is travel-friendly but still comes with quite a lot of product. This is a great and more affordable way to test out the formulas of two types of highlighters that Becca sells. Opal is that universally flattering light-gold, champagne color.

  • Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed Opal (0.085 oz./2.4 g.) – $38, full size
  • Shimmering Skin Perfector Spotlight Wand Opal (0.17 oz./4.8 g) – $41, full size
  • $20
  • Available at Sephora, Ulta, Becca (website)

Application: The Shimmering Skin Perfector (pressed) is opaque, has a soft texture, and is buildable. It has slight shimmer (no glitter) and gives a natural glow that can build up to be stronger. I noticed it fading after about 6 hours of wear. The Shimmering Skin Perfector Spotlight (liquid) is a lightweight, buildable, creamy texture with a beautiful glowy finish (no shimmer or glitter). This formula leaves a “lit-from-within” glow that looks very natural, perfect if you want a glow but don’t want it to be obvious that you are wearing highlighter. It has a perfumey smell which I don’t mind and I actually really love this formula because of the natural glow it gives the skin without being over the top which I definitely don’t want everyday.

Ipsy May “Summer Friday”☀️🌴🕶

This month’s summer themed bag is a plastic, water-resistant bag with little cute ice creams all over it. It’s actually pretty big which is great and can even fit makeup brushes in!

🍦Mellow Cosmetics Creamy Matte Lipstick Nude ($13)

These lipsticks are described as being highly pigmented, rich in formula, and long-wearing. It comes in the bullet-style tube and has pretty cream and gold packaging. The lipstick itself also feels quite heavy which always gives a product a more luxurious feel. Nude is sort of a dusty, mauve color that is very pigmented and comfortable on the lips. Would I repurchase? Yes, I love the packaging and formula!

🍦Urban Decay Afterglow 8-hr Powder Highlighter Sin ($26, for full size)
This highlighter is described as a finely-milled, lightweight, creamy formula. Sin is a light champagne color and has a very soft, sort of powdery texture. It’s very pigmented but looks natural and leaves a beautiful glow. Repurchase? No, it was a bit too powdery, and felt like it sat on my skin the more I built it up.

🍦Royal & Langnickel Moda Precision Angled

I love receiving makeup brushes! You can never have too many and they always send really nice ones. This brush doesn’t have too much of a description other than it has synthetic fibers and is 100% vegan. It’s a little too big to be used as an eyeshadow brush so I’ve been using it for under eye concealer. It would also be great for contouring. Repurchase? I couldn’t really find how much this brush was, but the quality was great and based on the prices of similar brushes on their website they look affordable as well!

🍦Global Beauty Care Charcoal Wash Off Mask 1 oz. ($4.99, for 5 oz.)

This is a 15 minute mud-based, deep cleansing mask made to gently draw out deep dwelling dirt, oil, and impurities from your clogged pores and lifts away dead skin cells without over drying. I received this same mask in Dead Sea Salt awhile ago and both have that same mud mask consistency and color, and smell the same. It takes time to see if a mask works for you or not, and even though this isn’t full size, I’ve gotten many, many uses out of my Dead Sea  one and still have a good amount left so this will last awhile. Repurchase? Yes, I love masks and the ones from this brand perform really well and are very affordable!
🍦Grande Cosmetics Mascara Lash Boosting Formula ($24.95)

This mascara claims to provide extreme volume while nurturing and conditioning lashes with its peptide infusing formula for healthier lashes. The brush looks like a standard dome shaped brush, but I can’t use this one just yet-I have a few open mascaras I’d like to get through first.

Flower Beauty Shimmer & Strobe Highlighting Palette|Lip Suede Velvet Lip Chubby Review🌷

Flower Beauty says: “Shine on, FLOWER girl! Master strobing, the new face sculpting technique, with our Shimmer & Strobe Highlighting Palette. Dab on the soft shimmery shades, and sculpt your face with light for a refined, natural looking glow. The soft-focus, silky powders deliver a multi-dimensional radiance for a luminous complexion. Our three universal stoning shades are ideal to make any skin tone beam with radiance.

  • $12.98/Walmart
  • 0.28 oz./8 g.
  • 3 powder highlight shades
  • Soft, opaque, metallic-like finishes
  • Cruelty-free

Product: This is the Shimmer & Strobe Highlighting Palette from Flower Beauty which is sold online and in Walmart stores. First off, I love all of Flower Beauty’s packaging! This palette is white and rose gold with sturdy packaging and along with 3 shades brings a fluffy, angled brush. There’s a cool-toned champagne shade, a rosy shade, and a light gold shade.

Application: These highlighters are VERY pigmented and soft. They have a beautiful (metallic?) finish-no glitters here and blend out beautifully. It also easily builds up or blends out for a more natural looking glow. I actually really like the brush that is included, it’s fluffy, picks up a lot of product, and blends easily. The Luxie Precision Foundation brush also applied this nicely. The rosy and gold shades were actually my favorites and just went really well with my skin tone. This is definitely one of the most pigmented highlighters I’ve tried and I highly recommend trying this out!(It’s appears more subtle in the pictures than in real life, you can also see the shade differences a little more)

Flower Beauty says: Luxurious non-drying lip color with silky, satin-matte finish. Formulated with papaya and orchid hydrating complete moisturizer, smooth, and beautify.

  • $7.98/Walmart
  • 0.09 oz./ 2.7 g.
  • 5 shades available
  • Free from fragrance, talc, D5, and parabens, cruelty-free
  • Satin matte finish

Product: This is the Lip Suede Velvet Lip Chubby in Mauve Over. To me mauve is a more of a rosy-brown color and this is a sort of a neutral pink color. It comes in the standard retractable chubby lip crayon packaging and always great to keep in your bag to easily apply anywhere.

Application: The formula of this lipstick is very opaque and smooth with a matte, but comfortable finish with no scent at all which is great. This stayed on while drinking but will eventually fade when eating. The color is actually very close to my own lip color which is perfect for daily basis wear and isn’t very obvious when it fades.

🌷Let me know if you’ve tried either of these products!

Forever 21/H&M Haul🖤

Forever 21 and H&M are some of the best places to turn to if you want a great wardrobe on an affordable budget. These items are from a couple of different purchases over the last few months so it’s not a “spring/summer haul”. I actually love shopping Forever 21 online better than in stores just because I can find a lot more deals and it’s a little less overwhelming! I’ll link the items I find online but if they’re not online anymore they may still be in stores.

🖤H&M Printed Sweatshirts ($9.99; S)

I love these lightweight sweaters from H&M! They’re 100% cotton, lightweight, yet can keep you warm. There’s an assortment of colors and designs in store and I was able to find the dusty pink one here. I loved wearing them to classes!

🖤Forever 21 Black Skinny Jeans & H&M Skinny Regular Ankle Jeans ($9.99, both)
The H&M skinny ankle jeans come in a lighter blue, a darker blue, and black and they’re actually really good quality. They have a nice fit and are very comfortable, with front mock pockets but there are real back pockets. The Forever 21 black jeans are a very thin material and not as stretchy. They also run very big so I had to get a much smaller size.

🖤Forever 21

Satin Bomber Jacket, Olive ($22.90, S.)

This satin woven bomber jacket is 100% polyester and looks great with every outfit. I think jackets like these are a great staple because they can go with many outfits.

Ribbed Mock Neck Top, Charcoal ($5.90, S.)

Ribbed Mock Neck Bodysuit, Dusty Pink ($10.90, S.)

Ribbed Off-The-Shoulder Top, Mauve ($9.90, S.)

This is one top I do not recommend; it could be very comfortable and flattering however the neckline has an elastic band that flaps up awkwardly like it’s doing in the picture.

Classic Ringer Tee, White/Olive ($5.90, S.)

Ruffle Short Sleeve Top, Pistachio ($7.90, M.)

French Terry Knit Pullover, Apricot ($10.90, M.)

Crew Neck Pocket Tee, Light Olive ($7.90, S.)

Hot Mug Patch Graphic Cardigan, Heather Grey ($8.99, M.)

Ribbed Knit Bodysuit, Amber ($12.90, S.)

This is actually a bodysuit with runching at the waist, so it has that slightly tucked out look to it, which is so comfortable and for me and much better than a traditional tight bodysuit!

Scoop Neck Bodysuit, Mauve ($12.90, S.)

This bodysuit also has that extra fabric, tucked out look.

Striped Boxy Shirt, Creme/Black ($14.90, S.)

Off-The-Shoulder Shift Dress, Olive ($12.90, S.)

Racerback Cami Bodysuit, Black ($12.90, S.)

This bodysuit is another runched, tucked out bodysuit made of a nice woven material.

Surplice Wrap Dress, Light Olive ($12.90, S.)

Ribbed Raw-Cut Hooded Crop Top, Burgundy ($12.90, M)

Boxy Lace-Up Sweater, Indigo ($19.90, S.)

Mock Neck Bodysuit, Black ($9.90, S.)

Cotton Blend V-Neck Tee, Oatmeal ($3.90, L.)(image from

Their plain V-Neck tees are of course a staple, and I got this one in size Large so that I could wear it tied up in a knot.

Braided Faux Leather Belt Set, ($5.90)

I couldn’t find this exact set online but they do have similar sets which are great deals.

Snake Chain Choker, Silver ($2.90)(image from

Ipsy April ‘Sideshow’🎪🎟🤹🏽‍♀️

It’s been a busy couple of weeks with school and finals, but finally here is my Ipsy bag for this month! The theme is Sideshow and the bag is a large red/orange ticket that’s actually more sturdy and well made than most bags. However the inside is a little small and while unique, I just overall don’t like the look of this month’s bag.

🎪 Jesse’s Girl Liquid Eyeliner Black  ($6.99)

I tried this eyeliner awhile ago when it was in a silver packaging. I loved it because it went on so easily and was long lasting. They have a calligraphy style applicator that’s gentle on the eyelids which is a big problem a lot of other liners have.
🎪 Hey Honey Besame Mucho Shea Butter & Propolis Lip Balm  ($14, for full size)

The shea butter and propolis in this lip balm hydrate and have antibacterial properties. While lip balms and glosses aren’t my favorite to receive or use in general, this one was very moisturizing and not very glossy feeling. I’ve been using it lately as I’m applying my makeup as sort of a conditioner for my lips before applying lipstick.

🎪 Hanalei Aloe Soothing Gel ($30, for full size size)

This aloe gel has natural regenerative properties and can help balance redness and uneven skin. Along with aloe’s many uses this gel can also be used as a makeup base and actually worked really well that way for me. It also smells amazing and has a lightweight, cooling feeling that dries down pretty quickly.

🎪 Luxie Beauty 660 Precision Foundation Brush ($23)

I am loving my little Luxie Beauty brush collection that is slowly growing thanks to Ipsy. The brushes are really good quality, soft bristles that pick up up a lot of product with really pretty handles. I was excited that they finally sent out a foundation brush! But this one is a lot smaller than I expected-but still good. The brush is more of a fluffy, flat shape and it’s a bit difficult to apply the foundation quickly with this. But it did leave my foundation looking flawless with no streaks.

🎪 TheBalm Mary-Lou Manizer Highlighter ($24, for full size)

Even though this is a very popular highlighter in the beauty world, I’ve actually never used it before! The color is a perfect champagne color with the perfect amount of glow for a natural highlighted look. It’s buildable and has no glitters which is definitely what I prefer, soft, and opaque.

Ipsy March ‘Tres Jolie’🎀

This month’s bag is a classy, light pink with a black net-like design on the front with a rose gold zipper. I really like this one, it’s different and can fold back up to become an extra big makeup bag!

🎀Doucce Freematic Eyeshadow Marisa

This is a single shadow from Doucce’s Freematic line where they have a selection of matte and shimmer shadows to build your own quad palette ($35). The shade Marisa is a rosy-gold color and is pretty soft when applied dry but becomes very opaque and almost metallic looking when applied wet. The shade is pretty however, unless applied wet the gold flecks spread easily and get into the crease.

🎀Elizabeth Mott Blending Brush ($15)

This is a cruelty-free, vegan brush with synthetic fibers. It feels sturdy and good quality-the bristles are very soft yet pick up a lot of product and just makes for a perfect crease brush.

🎀Tarte Tarteist Quick Dry Matte Lip Paint Delish ($20, for full size)

This liquid lipstick in Delish is described as a rosy mauve color, it’ll suit many people and is perfect for day or night wear. The formula of this liquid lipstick is thin, dries fast, and actually very comfortable. It didn’t dry out my lips and lasted awhile before beginning to fade in the inner part of the lips.

🎀Model Co. Eye Define Crayon Liner ($14, for full size)

This retractable black eyeliner is cruelty free and vegan and described as highly pigmented, water resistant formula, and with a soft, silky texture. It is quite pigmented and doesn’t rub off easily even with water but, the texture is pretty stiff and I had a hard time getting a pigmented upper eyeliner even with squishing the tip down. It glided on the water line a lot easier, though I hardly wear eyeliner in the water line.

🎀Mudmasky Facial Detox Purifying Recovery Mask ($74, for full size)

This detox mask is made to refine, brighten the skin while keeping it hydrated and smooth. You are supposed to apply a thin layer and leave it on for: 7 min/dry skin, 9 min/normal-combo skin, 11 min/oily skin. It’s great that they give us this info so that each person can cater to their skin type’s needs. The mask is very thin and a little rough to apply with the granules it has in it but it dries quickly and removes easily. My skin did feel purified without the dryness that most leave behind. They also say to wait 10 min. to apply moisturizer.
