Wet n Wild Retractable Brow Pencil |Quick Review

This is a newer product from Wet n Wild and what intrigued me about this brow pencil was the shape and how it reminded me of one from ABH cosmetics that I was really interested in. The ABH one is obviously more expensive and so this one from Wet n Wild I really wanted to give a try.

(This is the pencil twisted all the way up…but I have been using it for a month or two)

✖️Product: Wet n Wild Ultimate Retractable Brow Pencil in 627A Medium Brown ($2.99-3.49).  This brow pencil is a bit bigger and thicker than your average brow pencil. It is double-ended with one end being the triangle-shaped pencil, and the other being a spoolie. The triangle shape is actually perfect for quickly filling in the thicker parts of the brow and the thinner parts.

✖️Application: The brow pencil is a perfect formula for filling in/drawing in the brows-it’s not too hard, not too soft and applies softly which is perfect for a natural looking application. Medium Brown is a nice cool-toned brown color that looks very natural and is a color that could probably work for a range of medium brown-dark brown hair colors. I normally don’t like brow pencils because they can look very harsh, but this one is very natural looking and easy to use. I’ve been using this product for a couple of months now and it’s quickly become a product I use everyday in my makeup routine.

Thanks for reading!🌼🌼🌼

‘Game Face’ January Ipsy Bag▪️▪️▪️

First Ipsy bag of the year! This month’s bag is a blue, bright yellow, and pink bag with a mesh material and shoelace zipper…going along with this month’s fitness inspired theme.

▪️Ciate London Fierce Flicks precision felt tip liquid liner ($19)

My favorite type of eyeliner are the felt tipped liquid liners. For me they give a cleaner and longer lasting line. This one is very pigmented and a nice, rich black shade. It doesn’t rub away once applied and was very easy to apply.

▪️City Color Contour Effects Palette

I’ve received a blush trio in this same little palette from City Color and loved how pigmented and travel friendly it was. This contour palette is in the same slim packaging and contains a cool-toned contour shade, a warmer shade, and a light champagne shade. The shades are very soft and apply on the skin very nicely.

▪️So Susan Liquid Matte Lipstick in RaisinFlesh ($14)

This liquid lipstick is very pigmented and has a very thin consistency. Raisin Flesh is a very pretty rosy mauve color. Although it’s not very drying as others it is a little sticky around the sides of the lips which can be just as annoying. Liquid lipsticks aren’t my favorite lipstick formula, but this one wasn’t too bad.

▪️Fre Deep Replenishing Serum ($65, for full size)

This is a daily treatment serum specially made for skin that frequently sweats and exercises. It has replenishing and anti aging properties and keeps the skin hydrated. I haven’t tried this one out yet but I’m get excited to try any type of skincare item and this one seems like a very unique one.

▪️Absolute New York Single Eyeshadow in Posse ($4.99)

This single shadow in Posse is an icy mauve color that can work great in the inner corner of the eye or applied to the center of the lid. It’s pigmented and soft and I’m honestly so glad I didn’t receive the other gold color Ipsy was giving out…(I’ve received one too many of those).

Milani Everyday Eyes Eyeshadow Collection – 07 Basic Mattes

Milani recently came out with some limited edition products,I believe for fall, including two Everyday Eyes Palettes and a couple of liquid lipsticks. The palettes are in the same packaging and format as the other newish eyeshadow palettes in their regular line. Both of these palettes contain very beautiful shades that are very user friendly and we’re exactly what was missing from their original eyeshadow palettes line up. I hope they make these permanent!
The all matte palette really caught my eye because I’ve been wanting a small palette that would contain the basic creams, tans, and browns that can create a simple to smoky look.

Product: 07 Basic Mattes 0.21 oz/ 6.0 g -$11, (on milani website) contains 6 shades and a dual-ended brush. There is a light cream shade, a satin light tan shade, a warmer brown shade, a neutral brown shade, a dark brown shade, and a black shade. I really like the packaging this collection of eyeshadows are in; they’re simple yet classy looking. I’m pretty sure these were $9.99 in Walgreens, but they are available on the Milani website for $11.

Application: These eyeshadows were very pigmented and blended easily. With just these 6 basic shades you can create so many looks. These shades in particular will work with every skintone and are shades that all ages would wear. This has been my go-to lately because they’re such easy yet essential shades!

Ipsy August “Good Vibes Only”🌻 & Ipsy September “Like A Boss”✖️

Better late than never! Especially since I’ve gotten really good products in these past few bags I really wanted to review them! 🖤

🌻Vitamasques Yoghurt Mask Duo

I love receiving masks and testing them out- we received two : Kiwi Fruit Yoghurt and Strawberry Yoghurt. They both claim to provide smoothness and radiance to your complexion and refine, brighten, and enhance the skin. I’ve only used the Kiwi Fruit so far and it smells really amazing. It sort of has the texture of conditioner and doesn’t completely dry down which is great for people who hate the tightness of some clay masks. It did soften and give enhance my skin a bit and would be great for people with dry skin.

🌞 Hey Honey Come Clean Propolis & Minerals Facial Scrub ($24, for full size)

This is a cleansing and exfoliating scrub with non-abrasive, crystalline beads to help clear away blackheads and dead skin cells. It’s also good for all skin types and gentle enough for sensitive skin. It has a sort of lemon-y smell  and leaves the skin very soft.

🌻 Catrice Highlighting Powder Champagne Campaign ($5.99)

This highlighter has a soft velvet texture with a pearl effect. It’s a classic highlighting color that looks good on everyone. And while it is pigmented , it’s not that blinding highlighter when first applied, but can be built up. It’s great to use as an everyday highlighter.

🌞 Crown Brush Medium Face Contour ($6.99)

This brush with soft synthetic fibers can be used for liquid, powder, and cream. I’ve never used a Crown brush before but I really like the quality of this brush. The bristles are compact yet soft and I think works best with blending in cream products like liquid contour and highlight.

🌻 Makeup Forever Excessive Arresting Volume Mascara ($25, for full size)

This mascara claims to create long lasting panoramic volume  for a dramatic eye-opening effect as well as brig a smudge proof formula. I haven’t opened it yet but the wand looks pretty thin which seems to always work best for my lashes

This faux leather, studded bag might be my favorite I’ve received. Its simple yet classy with just black and gold and it’s the only Ipsy bag I’ve actually used as a clutch.

▪️Nomad Cosmetics Multi-Perfection Illuminating Bronzer Duo Principessa

This “bronzer” duo is more like a highlighting duo to me. It has a slightly pink-champagne shade and a light gold shade, mixed together is light pinky-gold shade. It’s a small compact but I can get each color separately and so it’s like having 3 highlighters in 1. It’s pigmented but gives a natural highlight that you can build up.

▪️Feel Renewed Pumkin Walnut Facial Cleanser ($28, for full size)

This cleanser/exfoliator is gentle and just smells like Autumn 🍂 A little goes a long way and the gentle walnut flakes really gently exfoliates the skin.

▪️ Smashbox Photofinish Radiance Foundation Primer ($39, for full size)

This is a satin smooth primer that gives an instant glow while hydrating the skin. I normally don’t like the texture of Smashbox’s other popular primers because they have that silicone-y feeling. This one however is much more like a cream with a slight glow in it that doesn’t come through too strong through the foundation-which is a good thing. It gives a beautiful natural looking glow.

▪️ Luxie Beaut Rose Gold 207 Medium Angled Shading Brush ($12)

Ipsy loves to send these brushes, and I love receiving them! I now have a nice collection of Luxie brushes and they’re all amazing. This is a synthetic, fluffy angled brush that can be used for powder or cream. I don’t use angled brushes much to do my eyeshadow so I have to play with it more but it does pick up and blend very well.

▪️ E Nature Birch Juice Hydro Sleeping Pack ($28, for full size)

This is a moisturizer/mask that you apply a generous amount as a final step in your skincare routine and leave on overnight, rinse off the next morning. With birch juice, it is supposed to intently hydrate your skin. It doesn’t feel too heavy on the skin and you don’t wake up with a greasy face at all. I’ve never tried a product like this and I really like it so far!

Anastasia Beverly Hills Subculture Palette🖤

An essential eyeshadow collection, Anastasia Beverly Hills Subculture Palette features 14 shades that range from grungy mattes to bold metallics with an underground edge.

There have been an overwhelming amount of new makeup launches in the past year and a lot of it-particularly the eyeshadow palettes are all starting to look the same. But when I first saw the pictures of the Subculture palette I knew I had to have it! It has steered off the path of all the neutral, warm shades and is a cool mix of dark shades, yellows, and colorful blues and greens. This is my first experience with ABH eyeshadows!

(image: @Trendmood1 https://instagram.com/p/BW8tKxXlL9Z/)

Product: Subculture ($42) is in the same size and style of the Modern Renaissance palette. The outside is that same fuzzy texture that can easily get dirty, but maybe the darker blue color will help with that. This definitely caught my attention because of the darker “grungy” shades and the beautiful yellows. The dual-ended brush included has a fluffy crease brush and a flat eyelid brush and is really good quality.

There are 14 shades:

Application: All of the shades are extremely pigmented and soft. The two duochrome shades do need water to show up more and I had the most trouble with building up Cube (the first shade) to opacity even with applying wet. There is kickback with some shades especially Fudge (matte brown shade) but that doesn’t bother me too much. My Lorac Pro is one of my most pigmented palettes and it kicks up product as well. I just lightly dip my brush in and tap out the excess back into the pan. These blend very well when you use a light hand and I think you can create many different and unique looks with this one palette.

Edit: I’ve recently seen some reviews where they’ve had trouble with blending and patchiness. But I haven’t experienced that so far. On ABH’s ig stories they explain how with how soft these are you need to pick up very little and start blending in with a light hand and that patches form when you press hard with the brush. This is how I’ve been using it and so far so good.

I know these aren’t the neatest swatches but these were done with a brush over primer. The 2 duochromes and 1 metallic are swatched dry then foiled w/water. As you can see these are extremely pigmented! (L-R; 1st row-2nd row)

Colourpop Crushed Crystal Liquid Highlighters Amethyst & Aquamarine

I was really excited when I saw this Crystal Collection coming out from Colourpop just because it’s such a unique collection. There are 4 crystals, each with products infused with that specific crystal. Adventurine, Rose Quartz, Amethyst, and Aquamarine. I wanted to try a setting spray but was only able to get the Amethyst & Aquamarine Liquid Highlighters ($9, 0.85 oz/25 mL)

Amethyst – lavender with a pink flip, infused with crushed amethyst crystals

“…a calming stone that opens the third eye and clears the mind, enhancing intuition and inner strength. Attract peace and balance in your mind, body, and spirit.”
Aquamarine – blue with a violet flip infused with crushed aquamarine crystals

“…embodies the energy of the ocean in its crystal clear purity and its calm, relaxing properties. Known for promoting mental clarity and help to inspire truth and wisdom.”

Product: I really love the packaging on the whole crystal collection-the outer packaging as well as the bottles themselves. They are glass, which always makes a product feel more luxurious and has a pump. Now this is one of my cons with these highlighters, it pumps out way too much product no matter how softly you try; and with the way the formula is you really need a tiny amount. The Amethyst shade is actually very wearable and the tiny duochrome glitters in it are more of a magenta color. Aquamarine is a more striking duochrome with lavender-blue glitters.

Application: These highlighters are very liquidy and have a thin, slippery texture that takes some time to blend into the skin with your fingers, but a makeup sponge helps to blend it out faster. You also have to shake these up before using. Both highlighters are very pigmented but can become more wearable if you use a sponge.

Are these my favorite liquid highlighters/formula- unfortunately, no. I have to work with them a little more and I don’t love its slippery texture. My favorite is still the Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector; I just love its creamier, easier to blend formula much more (however it does set you back $41 for the full size 😐). Overall, these are a great buy if you love liquid highlighters and fun, duochrome shades-and you’re getting a huge amount for $9.
