Colourpop Crushed Crystal Liquid Highlighters Amethyst & Aquamarine

I was really excited when I saw this Crystal Collection coming out from Colourpop just because it’s such a unique collection. There are 4 crystals, each with products infused with that specific crystal. Adventurine, Rose Quartz, Amethyst, and Aquamarine. I wanted to try a setting spray but was only able to get the Amethyst & Aquamarine Liquid Highlighters ($9, 0.85 oz/25 mL)

Amethyst – lavender with a pink flip, infused with crushed amethyst crystals

“…a calming stone that opens the third eye and clears the mind, enhancing intuition and inner strength. Attract peace and balance in your mind, body, and spirit.”
Aquamarine – blue with a violet flip infused with crushed aquamarine crystals

“…embodies the energy of the ocean in its crystal clear purity and its calm, relaxing properties. Known for promoting mental clarity and help to inspire truth and wisdom.”

Product: I really love the packaging on the whole crystal collection-the outer packaging as well as the bottles themselves. They are glass, which always makes a product feel more luxurious and has a pump. Now this is one of my cons with these highlighters, it pumps out way too much product no matter how softly you try; and with the way the formula is you really need a tiny amount. The Amethyst shade is actually very wearable and the tiny duochrome glitters in it are more of a magenta color. Aquamarine is a more striking duochrome with lavender-blue glitters.

Application: These highlighters are very liquidy and have a thin, slippery texture that takes some time to blend into the skin with your fingers, but a makeup sponge helps to blend it out faster. You also have to shake these up before using. Both highlighters are very pigmented but can become more wearable if you use a sponge.

Are these my favorite liquid highlighters/formula- unfortunately, no. I have to work with them a little more and I don’t love its slippery texture. My favorite is still the Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector; I just love its creamier, easier to blend formula much more (however it does set you back $41 for the full size 😐). Overall, these are a great buy if you love liquid highlighters and fun, duochrome shades-and you’re getting a huge amount for $9.

Ipsy July “Over Easy”✖️✖️🍳

This month’s theme and bag is lazy summer and features Gudetama a newer character by Sanrio, some other Sanrio characters being Hello Kitty, Chococat, and My Melody. I think this bag is really cute and quirky and I love the products I received! I’m also seeing some different brands this month which is a great change. 🍳

✖️Trestique Concealer Crayon Bisque ($26, for full size)
This is described as a long-lasting, gel-like cream concealer stick and it definitely does have a creamier texture. It’s very pigmented, has really good coverage, and hasn’t creased in my undereye area. So far I’m loving this concealer!

✖️Laritzy Cosmetics Long Lasting Liquid Lipstick Nudes ($24)

This is a matte liquid lipstick that at first has a very thin, sort of slippery texture but quickly dries down matte. It’s not very uncomfortable, but does have that powdery feeling which I don’t really like. The color Nudes is a light nude pink color and this shade is literally my exact lip color, but I actually really like this lipstick. According to their website, this lipstick is limited edition and this is actually the only matte liquid lipstick they have on their website.

✖️Nomad x Stockholm Illuminated Highlighting Powder Midnight Sun ($36, for Nomad x Stockholm Palette)

This highlighter is actually part of a 9-piece makeup set by Nomad Cosmetics called the Stolkhom Palette. It is currently on sale on their website. This highlighter has a very soft texture and is very pigmented with no glitters in it and is a universal champagne shade.

✖️Ciate Wonderwand Gel Khol Liner Black ($18, for full size)

This eyeliner is described as having the blendibility of a kohl, with the intense high coverage pigment of a gel. It is a bit more pigmented and smooth than the typical pencil liner. On the other end of this pencil is an angled brush with thin but soft brsitlesto smoke out your eyeliner. Most smudging eyeliner bring a sponge end, but this brush worked really well to precisely smudge out the line nicely.

✖️Tarte Rainforest of the Sea Deep Diving Cleansing Gel ($25, for full size)

This brightening and waterproof makeup remover cleansing gel contains the Rainforest of the Sea complex, allantoin, provitamin B5, Indian gooseberry extract, and lavender oil to smooth the skin, soften and protect, reduce the appearance of fine lines, etc. I’ve only used this sample a couple of times and it left a nice, clean feeling without drying out my skin. With skin care you need to use a product a good couple of months to notice any real results.

✖️Everyday Makeup Bag✖️

For everyday simple and quick makeup or when I’m doing my makeup on-the-go I noticed I tend to use the same couple of products that work really well for me. I switch a couple of products out depending on the occasion. I’ve also been using this Ipsy bag because not only is it cute but it’s a little bigger than most makeup bags and can fit all the everything  I need and a couple of brushes too! Here’s what’s inside✖️

✖️✖️✖️✖️

For moisturizer/primer I’ve been switching out between the Naked Advanced Aloe Cream and the Hanalei Aloe Soothing Gel. These both also work really well under foundation.

For everyday foundation I’ve been using the Wet n Wild Photofocus Foundation-its lightweight yet gives me good coverage. If I need my foundation to last longer or need fuller coverage I carry my Clinique Beyond Perfecting Foundation.

For a long time now the L.A. Girl Pro Concealer is the only concealer I’ve been using. It’s one of the only ones that don’t crease underneath my eyes and it’s so affordable!

This Absolute New York HD Eyebrow Kit looks worn out for a reason. My favorite eyebrow formula is powder and this kit includes two shades and an eyebrow wax, but it also has a mini angled brush and spoolie which many kits don’t include.

I have a couple of favorite, bulkier contour shades I like, however this Elizabeth Mott Whatup Beaches is the perfect size to carry and is also a perfect cool-toned matte shade.

I’ve been loooving highlighters lately but I tend to switch out between these two in my makeup bag; Urban Decay Afterglow and Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector Opal. They are mini sizes, but also are the perfect champaigne shade that go with any look.

I don’t wear blush that often but when I do, the one I like bringing is this City Color Cosmetics Trio. The shades are all very different and pigmented and the packaging is very slim and lightweight.

These are my go-to liners that I use everyday and they are both dark brown shades which for me is a much softer look. The felt tip liner is one from the Ulta brand and the pencil is the Essence Long Lasting Eye Pencil. Compared to some higher end liners I’ve tried, these don’t smudge or move around on me at all.

Eyeshadow is another step I skip over a lot especially if I’m in a hurry but I like to carry this duo from Pixi by Petra or a Wet n Wild palette for any easy eye look. Most palettes definitely cannot fit in a makeup bag so if I’m going to be doing my makeup somewhere else I’ll just carry whatever palette I’m using.

Right now I’m using this Smashbox Full Exposure mascara; the wand is a pretty simple shape but actually works really well to curl and separate my lashes.

I really love the mauve-y nude lip colors on my skin tone and these have been my favorite lately; Flower Lip Velvet Mauve Over, NYX Simply Nude Sable, and Pacifica Power of Love.

For my foundation I mostly use the Real Techniques Expert Face Brush, for highlight and contour I use the Luxie Beauty Flat Foundation Brush and E.L.F Small Tapered Brush.
