Kyshadow The Bronze Palette & Liquid Lipsticks | First Impressions & Swatches

Kyshadow The Bronze Palette ($42)

This eyeshadow palette features 9 neutral-warm shades and according to the website is talc and paraben free, has medium buildable coverage, and a velvety smooth texture. I got a chance to try out my friend’s Kyshadow palette and so this is more of a first impressions review.

The Palette: What I first noticed is how small the palette actually is, it looks a lot bigger in pictures, but it could easily fit into a small purse. However, the pans of eyeshadow are a very good size. The palette is also that hard cardboard material and doesn’t include a mirror. I do really like the unique design on the cover however.

The Shadows: There are 9 very neutral/warm shades ranging from  a light cream color to black. Even though there’s only 9 shades there’s a wide variety of looks you can do with this one palette. The colors chosen are perfect to go from a natural look to a dark, intense look. The swatches below are without primer as well as an eye look I did and the shadows still were buildable and blended very well together on the lid.

Kylie Matte Liquid Lipsticks ($17, lipstick alone/$29, for lip kit)

These liquid lipsticks come in a pretty weighted bottle and I like the range of colors in the line. I like the formula of these as well, they’re matte, but not as drying as most of the Colourpop Ultra Mattes. They do however have this very strong cake-like, sweet scent that I really don’t like.(same as above: Candy K, Dolce K, Maliboo, Exposed, Koko K)

Overall, I do like the palette and liquid lipsticks. The palette is a nice neutrals palette with great colors and quality, but I think is definitely dupeable and I don’t like the price tag for only 9 shadows. The liquid lipsticks are definitely more comfortable to wear than some other ones out there, I like the wide range of neutrals and browns in the line-just not a fan of the scent.

Ipsy September ‘Glamazon’👑

This month’s theme is Glamazon and the bag is a dark blue and gold, sort of jean-like texture with little cheerleaders on the from spelling out I-p-s-y. I must admit I really don’t like the look of this bag at all and I don’t think the theme matches the bag. But, I did love everything I received inside!

🔸Amie Naturally Kind Deep Pore Exfoliating Polish ($7.99, for full size)

“A deep cleansing treatment containing natural rice granules that work deep down into pores to lift away dirt, oil, and impurities, revealing clearer, smoother skin.” This exfoliator is also made with 93.8% natural ingredients and smells amazing! The granules are very gentle and yet do the job in exfoliating and leaving behind softer, and brighter skin.

🔸Naked Advanced Aloe Cream ($59, for full size)

“Designed for both face & body this is a complete solution in skincare and cellular regeneration…highly organic, and contains aloe vera, amino acids, vitamins and minerals, shea butter…” This moisturizer has a unique texture, its whip-like and creamy, but not too thick. It also has no scent at all and isn’t heavy or greasy feeling. I used this once as a night cream and the next morning some healing breakouts actually looked less prominent. I’ve also used this underneath a type of foundation that only works if you have flawlesss skin-and it looked great!

🔸Trèstique Highlight Stick Maldives Luminescent ($34, for full size)
This is described as a “cream-gel highlighter” and has a very smooth, soft formula that glides on very easily onto the skin and blends easily as well. It’s pigmented and yet gives a very natural glow that can be built up for a brighter highlight. Maldives Luminescent  is the perfect champaigne color and I really love the packaging as well.

🔸Pixi by Petra Matteluster Lipstick Rose Naturelle ($12, for full size)

This lipstick is described as a demi-matte finish, with added peptides, hyaluronic acid, and vitamins C & E. It’s a very natural dark rose color and has a comfortable satin-feeling finish.

🔸It Cosmetics Superhero Mascara ($24, for full size)

Formulated with powerful peptides and proteins, strengthening biotin, lash-lifting polymers, and plumping collagen, this elastic stretch volumizing mascara will take your lashes to new heights!”  This is a newer mascara and has a pretty thin wand, which I prefer-but unfortunately I can’t try this mascara out jut yet!

Absolute New York HD Eyebrow Kit

My favorite way of doing my eyebrows everyday is in powder form. To me it looks the most natural and I just don’t like the very dark and intense brow look on myself that a brow gel, pencil, or pomade can easily give. I’ve been using a Jordana matte single eyeshadow in ‘Espresso Lane’ but I really wanted an eyebrow kit that contained everything I would need in one: powder, angled brush, and a spoolie brush. I found a small Absolute New York display in a local drugstore and just had to try this eyebrow kit when I saw it included everything that I actually use for my brows everyday!

Product: This HD Eyebrow Kit in Brunette ($5.99) comes in a portable and sturdy-yet sleek case and contains a clear wax, a light brown shade, a darker brown shade, a mini angled brush, and a mini spoolie brush. There are actually 6 kits in the line : Blonde, Auburn, Brunette, Toasted Taupe, Cocoa, Ebony. I really like how there is a broad range of colors for just about everyone and at such an affordable price.

Application: Both shadows are very soft, pigmented, and a whole lot is not needed to quickly fill in the brows. The two colors are also more cool-toned which is ideal for natural looking eyebrows. The mini brushes took some time to get used to working with the tiny handles, but they both work very well at picking up product, brushing through the brows, and cleaning up harsh lines. Using the clear wax as instructed by the insert applies the colors more intensely and more like a pomade would, but for everyday the powder is definitely pigmented enough on its own.

I’ve been using this kit everyday as well as taking it along in my purse and it’s super convenient to have everything in one place. It’s also long lasting and doesn’t easily wipe away. If your looking for a new eyebrow kit or one to keep in your traveling makeup bag, this is a great affordable option!
