The Product: This is the Laura Mercier Kajal D’orient Eyeliner ($28, Sephora 1.5 g/o.052 oz) This is a kajal liner in a truly unique packaging, very elegant and sleek. The actual kajal liner part is in sort of a cone shape with a pointed tip. It is creamy and perfect for creating a smudged, smoky look. However you can also create a clean line as well.

Description from website

Kajal as you’ve never seen before: one-stroke of carbon colour intensity with a luminous shine finish. Create endless eye effects with the first kajal to combine colour, light and long wear. The creamy texture melts to the skin for instant impact, blends easily and evenly for a truly smoky eye. Highly adherent colour stays smooth and flexible and the easy to apply stick glides on with extreme precision

Application: The texture of this liner looks and feels like a gel liner. It is very creamy and the pointed shape makes creating your top liner perfect. Despite the light-looking swatch below, it is a very black color. When I first applied this, it sort of smeared a little into my crease when I blinked. After it dried a bit there was no more smearing. I even wore this through a workout and the only part of my liner that was smudged a bit were my wings.

Overall Impression: This is like a creamy gel liner in pen form. I think this would work best for a top clean liner and for creating smoky looks by smudging. If you tend to have oily lids, this may crease and move around on you more because it seems to not fully dry like a gel would. If you don’t like eyeliner that pulls your skin as you apply, this is great for you because it glides so easily and smooth. So far I’m really enjoying this kajal liner!
