Wet n Wild Fall Collection 2015 ‘Here’s To The Wild Ones’

There’s just something about Wet n Wild’s Spring/Summer/Fall collections-I look forward to what the theme is gonna be and especially  to seeing the limited edition palettes. It also helps that I love the quality of their eyeshadows and Megalast lipsticks. This year’s Fall theme is Here’s To The Wild Ones and has 4 eyeshadows, 6 matte lipsticks, and 6 nail polishes. There’s also a mascara, makeup remover wipes, and brushes in the display but they’re not limited edition items. The overall theme of this collection is dark, but colorful colors and a lot of metallic/shimmer finishes.

I purchased the 2 palettes I liked the best and 2 lipsticks (I have a lot of similar colors to some in this collection). All the nail polishes looked so beautiful, but I have so many I don’t use! I did however take pictures of the whole collection!

The Palettes

-The Gal-lery Next Door, an array of purples and the only one with mattes in it.

Melrose Face, lights browns and neutrals.

Girls Just Wanna Have Funds, greens and browns.

Don’t Be A Poser, all dark colors with duochrome shimmers in it

🍂Girls Just Wanna Have Funds is a really pretty mix of greens and all the shades are very soft, the pigmentation wasn’t the best, but I did swatch it with no primer so I’m sure with it, it’ll be perfect.

🍂Don’t Be A Poser is one of their more unique palettes I’ve seen so I had to get it. If you zoom in the swatch pic, you’ll see that each color has a different colored glitter in it. They’re all really dark colors, but will each look so great on the lid alone.

These are some of the colors applied wet, the blue especially is a beautiful metallic.
The Lipsticks

Vintage Vibe, a dark wine

Celeb Sighting, a cherry red

Coffee Buzz, a dark plum

Nightcap, a rusty red/brown

Photobomb, a maroon/marsala

🍂These Megalast lippies are matte but extremely creamy and opaque.  It comes in a matte rubberized tube.

The Nail Polish
I’m just missing one nail polish in this collection which is a blue metallic color.

So that is it for this fall collection, I’m really loving the unique, dark, metallic colors. So ready for my favorite season of the year!

Laura Mercier Kajal D’orient Eyeliner  |Review & Swatches

(Pic from lauramercier.com)

The Product: This is the Laura Mercier Kajal D’orient Eyeliner ($28, Sephora 1.5 g/o.052 oz) This is a kajal liner in a truly unique packaging, very elegant and sleek. The actual kajal liner part is in sort of a cone shape with a pointed tip. It is creamy and perfect for creating a smudged, smoky look. However you can also create a clean line as well.

Description from website

Kajal as you’ve never seen before: one-stroke of carbon colour intensity with a luminous shine finish. Create endless eye effects with the first kajal to combine colour, light and long wear. The creamy texture melts to the skin for instant impact, blends easily and evenly for a truly smoky eye. Highly adherent colour stays smooth and flexible and the easy to apply stick glides on with extreme precision

Application: The texture of this liner looks and feels like a gel liner. It is very creamy and the pointed shape makes creating your top liner perfect. Despite the light-looking swatch below, it is a very black color. When I first applied this, it sort of smeared a little into my crease when I blinked. After it dried a bit there was no more smearing. I even wore this through a workout and the only part of my liner that was smudged a bit were my wings.

Overall Impression: This is like a creamy gel liner in pen form. I think this would work best for a top clean liner and for creating smoky looks by smudging. If you tend to have oily lids, this may crease and move around on you more because it seems to not fully dry like a gel would. If you don’t like eyeliner that pulls your skin as you apply, this is great for you because it glides so easily and smooth. So far I’m really enjoying this kajal liner!

Back To School:beauty-on-the-go🏃🏻

For most places, fall semester is just right around the corner and while this means exams and early mornings, it also means we soon get to wear cute boots and scarves! I keep things pretty simple when I’m getting ready for school, usually just concealing/correcting and a little eye makeup. It’s usually because I’m running out the door with barely enough time for breakfast! Here is a basic makeup routine for getting ready for school:

I like to use something light to even out my skin tone and conceal any blemishes. This is why BB creams are so perfect; most are a moisturizer, SPF, and a concealer in one! My favorite is the Rimmel 9-in-1 BB cream, it has more coverage than others and saves you from a lot of extra steps.

I also always use and undereye concealer for dark circles, it also brightens up your face and will make you look more awake. A great affordable one I like to use is E.L.F HD Lifting concealer it has a doe foot applicator and is thick but very blendable and creamy.

I will sometimes  contour my cheekbones quickly just to slim down my face a bit. I always reach for the Wet n Wild Contouring Palette the contour shade is a very natural, cool-toned color and I can also you the matte highlight shade to set my t-zone where I tend to get oily throughout the day.

I usually only use an eyeliner or mascara on school days. For my eyeliner I like using a brown color, it’s just softer for daytime. My favorite brown liner is Essence Long Lasting eyeliner in ‘Hot Chocolate’. It’s dark brown and smudge proof, (i’ve gone through so many of these).

To quickly fill in my sparse eyebrows, tinted brow gel is an awesome thing to have. The Hard Candy Brows Now works really well for me and is very affordable.

Now, ain’t nobody got time for a smokey eye, especially if you have a 7am class, but if I do apply eyeshadow, I stick to neutral colors like tans, browns, and golds.

For lips, it’s a good idea to keep those mini lipsticks you get from subscriptions in your bag, or to use lip balm sticks. I usually wear neutral/pinks, sometimes a fun-ner color if I’m feeling fancy.

These are some beauty shortcuts I usually follow during the week for looking fresh and au natural, besides, college students usually don’t dress up for school anyways! Thanks for reading! What is your routine for getting ready for school?

Ipsy August “Prep School”

Ipsy time! I love opening little makeup bags full of goodies every month! This month’s theme is Prep School and came out just in time for schools starting Fall semester next week. The bag is black, white, and pink houndstooth design and made of a plastic-y material which feels waterproof and is easy to clean.

Let’s get into the bag!

▪️Marc Anthony Argan Oil of Morocco ($5-8 for full size)

We have recieved a couple of items from this brand, and although I don’t like receiving haircare, Ipsy has made me fall in love with this brand. All there products are very affordable, smell amazing, and actually work in my hair. I have purchased this argan oil before and it tames the hair and makes it smell great!

▫️Doucce Cosmetics Ultra Precision Eyeliner ($22)

This is a black eyeliner that applies very smoothly and is waterproof. Doing a swatch on my hand and letting it dry, I tried rubbing it away and it did fade a little, but did not smear. Which will make this a great liner to use in the waterline.

▪️Hikari Lipgloss ‘Merlot’ ($13)

We’ve received this brand before and I’ve liked their products so far. This is a ‘high-shine matte lipgloss’ in a unique red/mauve color. I don’t know how something can be high-shine and matte at the same time, but to me, this gloss is very shiny. It’s not sticky at all and actually leaves behind a stain when rubbed away. I really love the sleek packaging as well.

▫️Marsk Eyeshadow Brush Pro ($26)

There’s not much of a description on this brush, but the hairs feel very soft and are very thin and flat, and so I’m going to be using this when I want to apply my eyeshadows wet. I think it’ll work very well this way and it’s great that we get to try this very pricey brush.

▪️Trust Fund Beauty nail polish ‘Elegantly Wasted’ ($15)

This nail polish is non-toxic, cruelty free, vegan, and ‘5 free’. Elegantly Wasted is a muted lavender color which is very beautiful and subtle. When I tried it on one nail, it was very opaque and thick. I also love the packaging of the box and the bottle!

▪️▫️That is it for this month’s bag! I’m really liking this month’s bag and that we got to try out some new brands▪️▫️

Benefit Roller Lash Mascara|Review

Benefit never fails with the cute and retro packaging of their products, not to mention their quality. I purchased the deluxe sample size to test out however I actually like these smaller sizes of mascara because the shorter wands are easier to control. I love trying new mascaras so let’s see if this can help my stick straight lashes!
The product: This is the Roller Lash Mascara ($24 full size, $12 sample) it comes in a unique 60s’ mod looking  packaging with a curved brush and short rubber bristles. As the website states:

It’s a roller for the lashes! The eye-opening Hook n Roll brush grabs, separates, lifts and curls… while the instant curve setting formula holds for 12 hrs.

Application: I applied this to one eye without using an eyelash curler as this is supposed to do that for you. It instantly lengthened, separated, and curled my lashes. With just 1-2 coats it gives a more than natural look and with 2-3 coats it gives you a voluminous, dramatic falsies look. Even better when you use an eyelash curler. I’m very pleased with this mascara I can see this quickly becoming my favorite!

(With no eyelash curler used and 1-2 coats of mascara)

(With an eyelash curler, 1 coat than 2-3 coats of mascara)

🌷 As with any mascara no matter the claims, the more coats you apply it will clump. Even so, Roller Lash is worth the try because it as you can see from the pics, it does an amazing job with giving you natural falsies!
