Collective Haul & Review|#6

These are some recent purchases that I’m going to review/ swatch for you all! These are items accumulated over a couple of months!

▫️E.L.F. Golden Bronzer ($3)

This is a little highlighter palette in the really sleek packaging of their pro line. It comes with a gold, a peachy gold, a champaigne, and a sort of midtone light brown. It had pretty good color payoff, although I do think you have to build up this product a bit. But I really like having 4 highlight options in one palette.

▫️E.L.F. Matte Lip Color ‘Praline’ ($3)

This is a matte lip color in a large pencil format. This is great for being able to line the lips, and get precision. It applies creamy but is a true matte. The color is a sort of dusty mauve color that I’ve seen (on ig) is a dupe for a couple of Mac lipsticks. This is a comfortable matte lipstick that is very handy and easy to use anywhere.

▫️Kiss Evr Ez Lashes & Strip Adhesive ($4-6)

Ok so I have no idea why but I can apply lashes to anyone easily, but onto myself I always have trouble! So when I saw these Ever Ez Lashes, that come with an applicator I thought it would be a miracle if these work. And lo and behold these were extremely “ez” to apply! I was shocked that I was able to apply them quickly, how natural they looked, and that they didn’t bother or feel heavy as others do. The glue is also really thin and dries clear. I am also wearing them in my Greige Makeup post here.

▫️Essence Eyeliner Pen ‘Deep Black 01’ ($2.99)

I can do a whole review on Essence eye pencils alone! They have amazing retractable liners that I’m constantly repurchasing, really good kohl pencils that come in many colors, and I decided to try out there felt tip liner. This is my favorite type of eyeliner because it just easily applies your liner with more precision. This pen was waterproof, dried quickly, and the felt tip is soft and so not harsh to apply like some others. I’ve so far only seen this in black but I would love to use one in brown!

▫️Sephora Outrageous Volume Mascara ($12, for full size)

This is the mini version ($5) of the mascara and I thought the packaging looked very interesting. The formula and brush is really good, it volumizes separates, and is a very black color. The brush reminds me of Benefit’s They’re Real mascara with the bristles being short and rubberized. My only problem with this mascara is the tube it is in. This tube doesn’t have the thing that cleans off the brush that all mascaras have and so it becomes pretty messy.

▫️Rimmel Moisture Renew Lipsticks    ($6.99)

I found these at Target on clearance for $3-4. I purchased ‘Berry Rich’ a pinkish berry color and ‘First Class Nude’ and pinkish nude color. These lipsticks have a strong floral smell and are very moisturizing. Not sure how long they’ll last on the lips but we’ll see how these work out!

▫️Maybelline 24hr Color Tattoo Leather ‘Deep Forest’

This was another Target clearance find. I have a few of the matte versions and they are very pigmented and long lasting. ‘Deep Forest’ is a deep smoky green that will compliment brown eyes very well. I’m not sure if this was a limited edition shade or not but it’s great getting these color tattoos on clearance!

▫️Dare to Dream Disney Princess Collection

So I had a whole post on this Disney princess makeup collection that recently came out, in Walgreens, but it accidentally got deleted! So I’ve included my purchases here. There was beauty books and makeup for each princess: Pocahontas, Ariel, and Mulan. The eyeshadows in the beauty books are pigmented, come in a range of finishes and are just overall impressive. The colors in each also go really well with each princess as well.

Dare To Dream Disney Princess Collection | Review & Swatches

Walgreens recently released a Dare to Dream makeup collection featuring three Disney Princesses. It’s not specified on the packaging, but from what I’ve read it is made by the company Markwins (same as Wet n Wild). The prices on everything are a little cheaper than E.L.F’s recent Disney collections but the quality of the items I purchased were really nice.

The princesses featured are Pocahontas , Little Mermaid, and Mulan. Each has a beauty book, and then a couple of different makeup products as well. There is also an Orly nail polish set for each princess. Let me just first say I love all the packaging! They look like watercolors and are very colorful and detailed.

Each beauty book ($10), has a face chart with two looks, a mirror, and a plastic flap that covers the eyeshadows. The names are also really cute referencing the movies and all colors chosen go well with each one. These eyeshadows were very pigmented, smooth and actually very quality feeling.

(Swatches over no primer, 1-2 swipes)

☀️In this collection there was also Luminzer sticks which I purchased, and a bronzer palette.

☀️This luminzer stick is creamy and pigmented and sort of a champagne-like color. The only downside to this is the packaging, the cap is a little loose and the stick sort of rattles inside.

🐚The Little Mermaid

🐚In this collection there were also two eyeshadow quad palettes and a lip set.

🌸In this collection there was also lipglosses and a glitter eyeliner set.

Orly nail polish sets:

If you love any of these princesses or just a sucker for the packaging, you are going to love this collection. It also helps that the quality of the items I purchased were really nice! I wish I could’ve tried out more of these products for this post but I didn’t want to buy a bunch of things I wouldn’t use often.

Colourpop Ultra Matte Liquid Lipsticks| Review & Swatches

 (Picture from ig: @trendmood1)

Colourpop Cosmetics recently released a new line of matte liquid lipsticks and it seems like just about every brand is now coming out with their own version. But fortunately for us, these Ultra Matte Lippies come in 25 beautiful shades and for $6 each!

Now, I don’t think so much hype about a release has occurred as much as these had. As predicted, with SO many people trying to order at the same time the website kept crashing and they sold out sometime that same night. Fortunately, while I kept trying to reload the page not sure if my order went through, I checked my email and there was the order confirmation! Yay! Now onto the review💋💋💋

  • 25 shades; $6 each
  • 3.2 g / .11 oz
  • liquid to matte finish
  • not over drying on lips
  • smudge-proof and long lasting
  • no scent

What it is: I purchased 5 colors in order as above pic: trap, bumble, tulle, avenue, and zipper.  I really love the packaging, it’s not only pretty but sturdy as well. The doe-foot applicator is the perfect size to apply the color evenly and with precision. Each color was also very pigmented. One layer is best with these and once they dry they are completely transfer-proof!

Application: The texture of these is very thin and watery at first, but dries pretty quickly. It is not overly drying and is actually very comfortable to wear compared to other liquid lipsticks. It has a slight powder feel when it dries but I find it to be very lightweight. You could apply a lip balm underneath or over if you find these too drying however for me these feel fine on their own. Swatches below are with no lip liner, however I think application would be easier if you lined your lips first.

To remove, what worked best for me was applying a lip balm on my lips and then using a makeup remover wipe and cold cream to easily wipe away the product. Make sure to exfoliate your lips at least once a week to have smooth, soft lips for these to go over.

*True to actual color

Trap is a greige color with a very slight lavender tint to it.

Bumble is a truly unique peach-y rust color that seems to be many peoples’ favorite.

Tulle is a red-brown color that is also favored by most.

Avenue is a deep red color that is actually deeper than the lip swatch here and is just a very sophisticated red.

Zipper is a deep violet color that is again a bit deeper than the lip swatch above. This is the only color that went on a bit streaky.

💋💋 I am in love with these Ultra Matte lippies! There are some beautiful colors, they’re lightweight, long-lasting, smudgeproof, and only $6! I find myself now ‘needing’ more! As of now they’re still sold out, however I know once they restock (August) they will quickly sell out again, so get ready! 🎀
