EOTD + Review | Black Radiance ‘Deeper The Berry’ Palette

Black Radiance ‘Deeper the Berry’

▪️▪️▪️▪️

I picked up this palette from Black Radiance (from the same company as Wet n Wild) in ‘Deeper The Berry’. Black Radiance has had a couple of these 8-pans before, in the same format as Wet n Wild’s, but I’ve noticed they always have wearable, sophisticated colors, nothing too bright and crazy. Although, their prices for these palettes are $1-2 higher, I don’t see much difference in pigmentation, blendability, etc.
What it is: This palette is a beautiful array of berries and browns. As soon as I saw it I knew I haven’t seen any palette with these particular colors together. A lot of WNW/Black Radiance shadows have an interesting dual chrome to it such as the ‘Crease’ color in the L. Row is a light berry color with gold and purple flecks so that it sort of changes color in different lightings.

Tutorial:

This look is sort of a purple smokey eye, but very wearable and suitable for daytime. You can always follow the helpful guide printed into the eyeshadows or get creative and mix it up! The left row of eyeshadows creates a unique, darker look with the light browns and dark blue. While the right row creates a very pretty light purple look!

💜Thanks for reading!

It Cosmetics Naturally Pretty Vol.1 Matte Palette | Review & Swatches

Naturally Pretty Vol.1 Matte Luxe Transforming Palette ($42)

This palette has actually been out for awhile now… But, was recently 50% off on ulta.com and I jumped at the chance because I saw that it was an all matte palette. I looked up reviews on it and saw that it was well loved and had such a great mix of light-dark colors. It is also infused with anti-aging components!

〰The Palette

As you can see the palette is a unique dusty-rose color with gold accents. The actual palette is a soft, carpet-like texture that you just know will be very easy to dirty. I plan on keeping this palette in the box just like my Lorac Pro! It has a magnetic closure and comes with 14 matte shadows and 1 Transforming Pearl shadow that is supposed to turn any matte color into a satin/shimmery one. It is quite big, about the size of Lorac Pro, and a lot thicker.

〰The Eyeshadows

When you look at the colors in the palette they look a little more on the satin side. However, swatched and applied to the eye – it’s a true matte. What drew me to this palette is the wide range of colors here. You have your soft nude colors on the left, then your warmer/brown colors in the middle, to dark colors on the right. It also includes some really unique purples, oranges, and a blue. You can get many, many looks out of this one palette alone and that is something I always look for in a palette.

Swatches are grouped like in above pic. Last two swatches are Sunrise and Soft Light with Transforming Pearl on top.

  〰Application

These swatched so pigmented and smooth I was actually very surprised! As for the transforming pearl, I think used with the lighter colors it works really well. With the darker colors however it lightens the color more than anything else (last two swatches in above pic). I had to layer it a bit in order to bring back the true color. It is still a pretty color to use on its own.

I think there’s no surprise here, I love this palette! And since this is Vol.1, I can only hope there will be a Vol. 2 soon! Can’t wait to come up with some awesome looks with this!!

Milani Stay Put Brow Color|Review & Swatches

Milani Stay Put Brow Color ($7.49, Walgreens)

I haven’t heard much about these new brow products from Milani, but I definitely wanted to try them because I haven’t seen any drugstore brow products in this format. It also looks like an exact dupe for the much raved about Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow Pomade.

Color Options:

01 Soft Brown (light ash brown-medium hair)

02 Natural Taupe (golden blonde-light ash brown hair)

03 Medium Brown (medium brown-chestnut hair)

04 Brunette (chestnut-chocolate brown hair)

05 Dark Brown (chocolate brown-black hair)

The Product: This comes in a jar, just like a gel liner, and has a creamy consistency. It also conveniently comes with a double ended brush/spoolie that is actually very good quality and helps apply the color very precisely. I also really love the black and gold packaging!

Application: As soon as you dip the brush in you can see how creamy and soft the consistency is. It also applies very smoothly and once it sets, doesn’t budge. I’m really happy with the way these looked and how you can make them natural (the route I like to go) or build them up. Using this type of brow product is perfect for long lasting use. Soft Brown, the lightest color isn’t too, too light and so someone like me with medium brown hair can get away with wearing this color for a softer look.

The top picture is applied with a brush, and the bottom is after being rubbed off many times. As you can see it doesn’t smear all over the skin but just sort of fades away. And so I think this is a great buy and alternative to the Anastasia ones especially with the price difference. For makeup artists, this will make stocking up your kit with quality eyebrow products a dream! I’m definitely loving these so far!

EOTD + Review | E.L.F Belle Palette

E.l.f just recently released a new addition to their limited edition princess series at Walgreens- Belle, from Beauty and the Beast. There are also makeup bags, as well as nail polishes from Orly. (Pictures of rest of the collection below!)

🌹Here is a look I created using the Belle eyeshadow palette ($6.99) which has 9 shades with colors that to me, goes well with the overall theme and look to Beauty and the Beast.

      (Swatches w/no primer)

The eyeshadows are surprisingly pigmented with only one or two that you have to build up color. They are very easy to work with, and this palette overall has a great combination of colors to create a variety of looks especially since included here is a black and brown.

🌹🌹🌹

Rest of collection:

🌹I really love how they designed the whole collection with the the roses and different, more sophisticated-looking Belle. I’m really impressed with the palette I purchased as well!

Ipsy June “Swim Into Beauty”|Subscription Box Review

This month’s Ipsy wants to get us summer-ready and with products like primer, waterproof eyeliner, and lip stains I think we are ready for this season. There’s a couple of new brands featured this month which is always exciting. The bag itself feels like it’s waterproof, perfect to take on vacation and so…onto the bag!

Print on the bag

☀️Trestique Shadow Crayon mini ($26, for full size – ‘Venetian Gold’)
This is a new product from Trestique, an eyeshadow crayon that claims 12-hr wear and according to the website, is not even available yet. It’s a twist up formula that is very soft and pigmented. Unlike the Nyx Jumbo Eyeshadow pencils which are pretty rough on the lids to apply, this one glides on easily and quickly becomes like a powder.

☀️Jcat Beauty Liptude 24/7 Hydrating Lip Stain ($5.99 – ‘Blow Your Mind’)

This is a liquid lipstick that is very pigmented, and applies smoothly with its doe foot applicator. It has the exact same minty smell as their Wonder Lip Paints. After application it didn’t dry to a complete matte finish, it still felt soft and hydrating. After a couple of hrs, I wiped it off and was left with a very bright stain. There are many colors on the website and I think this would be great for people who don’t like those extremely drying liquid lipsticks!

☀️Aurora Eyeliner Pen ($7.99 – ‘Blackberry’)

This is a calligraphy form liquid eyeliner – my favorite type – because it makes it so easy to apply your eyeliner and wing it out to perfection! This claims to be waterproof and smudgeproof, and with my experience with these types of liners, they really are. When I did a swatch test and rubbed, it didn’t budge at all and so this should turn out to be an awesome liner.

☀️Smashbox Photofinish Foundation Primer ($36, for full size)

The Smashbox range of face primers comes with many types all for different purposes such as hydrating, color adjusting, luminzing, etc. We received the basic one, perfect for a flawless canvas. It has a silicone feel to it, and although I’ve never tried this particular one I have their green color-adjusting primer and it works pretty well as far as giving a smooth canvas for your foundation.

☀️BioRepublic sheet face masks ($4.99 each)

The last item I received were three sheet masks all different types. I received a Green tea purifying mask, Aloe revitalizing mask, and a Cucumber soothing mask. They are all for ‘all skin types’ and it’s really great that we received three, since it’s a one time use item. I love skincare, and so these will be fun to try out.

 Swatches!
☀️ I really loved this well rounded bag we received! It really covered a big part of the make up routine and all to keep your makeup flawless this summer!

Quick & Simple Evening Makeup Look🌙

Have somewhere to be in the evening but zero time to get ready? If you don’t have much time, but still want to achieve a flawless night look here’s how! 🌻🌻🌻

Using darker colors on the eyes and lips is the number one way to move your daytime look to an evening look. Even just adding a darker lip will make a huge difference. For this quick and easy look I simply used two eyeshadows, mascara, and a bold lip. (*the camera washes out the colors a bit, in person the eyeshadow was more intense)

🌻Eyes and Face
I applied a light gray  all over the lid, and then a dark blue on the outer v. The blue is lightly blended into lid, while blended more as it rises to achieve a very simple smoky look. Next, I skipped on liner, curled my lashes and applied mascara. I also put a little of the dark blue in the waterline. You can use any two colors as long as the lid color is lighter and preferably neutral. (Nyx jumbo pencil ‘milk’, Tarte eyeshadows, Jordana Best Lash Extreme mascara, Milani color statement ‘Sangria’)

For complexion I simply applied foundation and contour. Skipping on extras like blush and highlight- very important but, when you have a very short amount of time to get ready these are extra steps you can skip. (Lorac Porefection foundation, Wet n Wild contour palette)

Here are two other examples on a face chart:

On the left side is a neutral color on the lid with a marsala like color in the outer v paired with a dark nude lip. On the right side is the same neutral lid color, with brown smoked out in the outer v, and paired with a deep red lip.

🌙And voila…I was surprised at how simple an evening eye look can be while still looking dramatic and perfect especially without eyeliner! I’ve been using this routine more often especially as summer is approaching and l try to use less products on my face.
