It Cosmetics My Sculpted Face Highlight & Contour Palette |Review & Swatches

Contouring is all the rage now, and every cosmetic line is now coming out with their own contouring palette. I wasn’t really on the ‘hunt’ for a contouring palette, but I did notice that most of these palettes had really orange-y, warm contouring colors. Even though I have a medium skintone that tans easily, only cool toned contour shades look good on me. If you have a cool/neutral undertone, it’d  probably be the contour shade that’s best for you as well. I then saw this palette from It Cosmetics that I was instantly drawn to because it was basically an all cool-toned palette!

The Product: My Sculpted Face ($38; Ulta) comes in a hard cardboard with a magnetic closure. It’s very compact and travel friendly. Although I like the packaging, the front and back pictures look very dated and could probably use a revamping of the design. There are 4 contour shades and 2 highlight shades.

▫️Highlight Shades

The top left color is a matte white that actually applies more translucent. However I think this color will show up more white on deeper skintones. The next one is a pearl-like highlight on the more metallic side.

▪️Contouring Shades

Top left, is very neutral light brown that is actually the perfect contour shade for me. Top right, is almost the same neutral light brown but is more pink-toned and so would be great on fairer skin. Bottom left, is a medium brown and that would be best for those with yellow undertones, or as a bronzer. Bottom right, is a deep brown which I haven’t seen much of in palettes so it’s great to see it here. So as you can see there is a perfect shade for everyone! You can also mix colors together to get the right shade.

Application: All shades are very buttery soft and apply smoothly. As you can see they are also very pigmented and long lasting. The only downside for me is the white matte highlight, which would’ve worked for more people if it were a flesh toned color. This is also the only color that is a little chalky.

🌻I’m really happy with this palette especially since it’s a more cool-toned, which is the most natural looking. This would be great for makeup artists as it is compact and can be used on so many different people!

Splendies subscription review |🌷May

This is my second Splendies bag and once again it did not disappoint! It’s just fun to receive something different than beauty products. Check out my first bag here!
Splendies is an underwear subscription where you get 3 pairs each month for I believe $13. Although the first month is $9.99. You can choose the Surprise variety, All thong option, or No thong option (an extra $2). They also have a higher end version called Luxe and plus size version called Volupties. It comes in a discreet white mailer and wrapped in paper. They also suggest to order one size larger than your normal size as they tend to run small.

▪️This first one is a royal blue and black thong from the brand Tres Sexy. The front is really cute and reminds me of a corset design and is of polyester/spandex material.

▪️This next one is baby blue with darker blue lace trim and is a cheeky boyshort. It is also from the brand Tres Sexy, is polyester/spandex material and probably my favorite one.
▪️This last one is a cotton boyshort with cheetah print lace. This is from the brand Vision and feels like it’s going to be very comfortable.

🌼That is it for May’s Splendies bag! I really loved all that I received. I also like that it feels all high quality!

Wet n Wild Coloricon Matte Bronzer |Limited Edition

The Wet n Wild ‘California Dreaming’ summer collection recently hit stores and it includes lip tints, stains, nail polishes, mascaras, and two matte bronzers. Not sure if they’re going to add eyeshadows soon, but for now I picked up the darker matte bronzer in Toast to You. The other bronzers in their permanent line have shimmer in it so it’s great to see two new matte ones!

Display of collection (empty spots next to bronzers below were the permanent bronzers)

The Product: It comes in the same big round packaging as the permanent ones. Although the limited edition ones are in a rubber brown case whereas the others are in plastic. The actual bronzer is very smooth and buttery, but the brush picks up a lot in one dip and leaves excess in the pan. Both colors are on the warm side, but neither is very dark at all.

Application: It is very pigmented and smooth. While the color is on the warmer side, I feel like it’s a little cool because it works pretty well as a contour color (contour shades on the cooler side look better and more natural on my skin tone). This gives such a nice subtle bronzed glow when applied along the forehead, and around the sides of the face.

  • 0.46 oz./13 g
  • $4.49 ($1 off until I believe 5/31)
  • matte, soft texture
  • pigmented, a warm tan color

☀️I’m so impressed with Wet n Wild face powders. Such great quality for such low prices! I have these other two   I got awhile ago, the contour palette in Caramel Toffee which I am making quite a dent in and have a review on here. And the bronzer in Ticket to Brazil which has a slight shimmer and spf 15.

Wet n Wild Coloricon Blush & Glow Trio ‘Solar Powered’|Review & Swatches

The product: This is from Wet n Wild’s Spring Silver Lake collection. They came out with three blush & glow trios: Sunset Junction (the lightest), Fair Trade Coffee (similar to sunset junction), and Solar Powered (the only one w/o a pearlish color in it). Solar Powered has a coral color with gold flecks, a brown-gold, and a truer gold. All three have shimmer, yet when worn is not very noticeable and looks very beautiful. And this is coming from someone who does not like shimmery face products! This is the perfect summer product for looking bronzed and glowy all summer long!

  • .42 oz./12 g
  • $3.99
  • smooth & very pigmented
  • long lasting
  • gives a sun kissed glow

(All three together)
Application: These are all very smooth and pigmented. I know the two gold colors look very similar in the swatch, but when applied the upper left one is a light gold with little to no shimmer (as you can see in the swatch below). While the bottom color is a bit heavier. These colors would look so great and natural on medium – tan skin tones as it gives the skin a sun kissed glow. On lighter skin it would be a beautiful bronzed blush.

☀️I’m so glad I found this product as I was on the hunt for some summer highlighters! I love that a huge amount is given also. Although it’d be great if at least one of these colors were permanent seeing as highlighters in these shades are harder to find!

Ipsy May “Jetsetter”

This month’s theme is ‘Jettsetter’, and with summer vacation approaching, we are all thinking about our upcoming travels and adventures! I love this month’s bag- there were two created and I got the one I wanted! It’s also a pretty big size which I prefer over the smaller ones from the past. Here’s what’s in my bag:

✈️The Organic Pharmacy Double Rose Rejuvenating face cream ($88, for full size)

This moisturizer applies first a little thickly, but then dries to a nice lightweight feel. The skin afterwards feels very soft and smooth, a perfect base for makeup. I actually like getting face creams in my bags and it also smells really nice. The fact that the full size is $88, it’s pretty cool that we could try out a nice sized sample.

🌎Chella Tantalizing Taupe Eyebrow Color Pencil ($18)
This is a retractable eyebrow pencil, great for travel, so you don’t have to sharpen it, with the actual pencil being very thin. It’s a quite ‘hard’ or ‘rough’ consistency but that actually works for a brow pencil. I’ve used pencils that are too creamy and they end up being too harsh looking and hard to apply. This taupe color will also be perfect for many hair colors and I really liked the way my brows came out with this!

👛Jesse’s Girl Pure Pigment Eye Dust ‘Brown Sugar’ ($4.99)

Yess…finally a non-shimmery gold color! I was getting really tired of those. ‘Brown Sugar’ is a dark tan color with more of a satin finish. This color is perfect for a natural everyday eye when you want just one easy sweep of color on your lids. It’s also very soft and easy to blend.

🚂Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Lip Pencil ‘Ozone’ ($20, for full size)

This is a clear lip pencil that can go with any lipstick color. When you apply it, it sort of has a waxy feel to it but not too sticky. I have the Milani Anti-feathering lip pencil and it works the exact same. I would say, try out this much-cheaper-yet-exactly-the-same version of clear lip liner. We also received two samples of their new Revolutionary lipglosses in ‘Failbait’ and ‘Bittersweet’. They were creamy and not sticky at all.

🚢Oscar Blandi texture & volume spray ($24)

I completely forgot to put this in the first pic! This is a full size texture hairspray for those days when you leave your hair down but still want some body in it. It smells really nice and will probably get some good use this summer.

✈️🌎🚢 So that is it for this months Ipsy bag! I’m pretty content with everything I received. Until next time!

E.L.F Cosmetics Blush Palette | Review & Swatches

E.l.f. Cosmetics came out with two new blush palette quads (Light & Dark) from their studio line. I purchased the Dark palette ($6) to see how this differed from their single blushes. It’s a great combination of colors in a sleek palette case.

 The Product

First off, I love how simple and sleek the palette is. It comes in a simple black case with a large mirror, and actually the palette itself is quite large. There is a very good amount of blush as well. From the top left, there is a peachy pink color, a hot pink color, a dark pink/red (the only one with shimmer in it), and a marsala/maroon color. As far as I know, there are no names for the colors.

▪️(Heavy swatches on the left and applied with a blush brush to the right)

Each blush is very smooth and pigmented. It’s such a difference from my experience with their single blushes. You definitely need a light hand with these and they are quite long-lasting. I wanted this palette solely for that last marsala color!

💠So, as you can see these blushes are very pigmented. The quality is really great and all for $6! I might want to eventually get the Light palette, there’s a very interesting peachy tan color in there.
