Wet N Wild Coloricon Contour Palette |Review & Swatches

This is a new product that recently came out from WNW that for now, is exclusively sold at Walmart. There are two palettes in the line: Dulce de leche (lighter) and Caramel Toffee (darker). I purchased Caramel Toffee, but from what I’ve read and pictures I’ve seen, Dulce de Leche’s highlight shade is more on the light-yellow side, with the contour shade being lighter, and Caramel Toffee’s highlight shade is more on the pink-toned side.
-$3.93 at Walmart
-0.46 oz/13 grams
-soft/smooth texture
-natural looking (perfect for daytime wear)

About two swipes with a brush gives you a very natural looking contour, which I love for everyday use. The
highlight is very light, yet I think does pretty good job. I found that if you want a deeper color for the contour you can swipe some product with your finger, apply it to where you contour and then blend out with a brush. This palette is also pretty big, but should fit in a makeup bag. It also gave me around 4-5 hours of wear, and I’m using this more and more than my usual contour!

(L.pic is with 2 swipes with a brush. R.pic is with applying a deeper contour with my finger then blending out

Gallany Cosmetics Lipstick ‘Bordeaux’|Review & Swatches

IMG_5190.JPGI received this from Ipsy when I redeemed my Ipsypoints. I’ve never heard of this brand but I LOVE lipsticks so I gave it a try. According to the website it is a fairly new brand which carries only lipsticks for now by chemist Ida Gal. There are 5 different collections (Bright, Classic, Deep, Nude, Punk) in all the same packaging and each $21.50.
Description of lipsticks on website:

A luxurious lipstick that is infused with Hungarian Lilac Extract, Edelweiss, and Hyaluronic Acid for intense hydration as well as lavender wax to help repair and smooth lips. In addition, this lipstick delivers super saturated color that will truly make a statement.

The Product: First off, I love the packaging, it is so unique and different looking. What I also noticed and loved is that the tube itself is quite heavy so it just feels luxurious as well. ‘Bordeaux’ is sort of a rusty red-brown, kind of like the perfect marsala color that looks very complimentary and sophisticated. Very difficult to capture the color in the pictures!

Application: This is extremely creamy and sort of thick feeling when applied. As their description says, it is very saturated and pigmented. It will also last awhile and stayed pretty much put through eating and drinking.

๐Ÿ‘„So, no surprise, I loved this lipstick. It is creamy, pigmented, comfortable to wear, and a very flattering marsala color. I know it’s quite pricey for most of us, but I’d love to try out their other colors because it’s such a great quality lipstick!

Ipsy February ‘#IpsyLove’

This month’s Ipsy bag came pretty early for me and of course is Valentines themed. The bag is pink with a front zipper. It’s not favorite bag, but still pretty cute. I also redeemed my ipsy points and received the Gallany Cosmetics lipstick which I’m going to do a separate review on.

๐ŸŒนLuxie Beauty Large Angled Brush 504 ($16)
I’ve never heard of this brand but I am loving this brush, especially the pink and rose gold handle! According to their website it is 100% vegan, has synthetic bristles, and is anti-bacterial coated for a fresher and cleaner brush. It picks up the perfect amount of blush/bronzer and applies it very nicely. Right now on the website this brush is on sale for $8, but not sure how long this will be!

๐ŸŒนCargo Cosmetics Essential Lipgloss ‘Anguilla’ ($16, for full size)
I’m not the biggest fan of lipgloss, but luckily this one is quite creamy and pigmented.‘Anguilla’ is a light pink that looks nice over mid tone pink colors. What I really like is that it is not sticky at all and is very comfortable to wear, it also contains Vitamin E and Jojoba Seed Oil.

๐ŸŒนEva NYC Up All Night Volumizing Hair Spray($24, for full size)
As I’ve said many times before, I don’t like receiving hair products, (except for maybe hair creams/treatments ipsy has made me use these more). This is supposed to bring life to limp hair and actually smells really good. My hair however doesn’t need more volume so not too sure what to do with this just yet.

๐ŸŒนModel Co. Blush ‘Peach Bellini’ ($22, for full size)
I was really excited to try out this blush and we received a really big sample size! I received the color ‘Peach Bellini’ which is a coral peach color with a little gold shimmer in it. When swatched you see the shimmer more, but when applied not so much. I think this color is very flattering and would be on any skin tone.

๐ŸŒนPencil Me In eyeliner ‘Amethyst’ ($6.99)
This eyeliner is a creamy, and easy to apply purple color and is supposed to be a “green” pencil containing natural ingredients like green tea extract, jojoba oil, Shea butter, and various vitamins, etc. I also like that it comes with a built in sharpener.

(lipgloss alone)

Well that’s it for this month. This February bag had all brand new products to me that I’ve never tried before! Til next time, thanks for reading! ๐Ÿ’‹ michelle

Coastal Scents 120 Palette 5|Review + Swatches

I recently purchased this palette as gift for my mom and had planned on borrowing it for for a review…(and to occasionally use ๐Ÿ˜‰ ) Looking at the different palette selections I wasn’t sure which version of the 120-palette to get (there are five), but settled on this one because it had the most of neutral colors. As usual, it came fast and carefully packaged so your sure nothing will ever come broken. And as with every order, they include a sample. Usually it’s an eyeshadow quad in a little plastic palette, but this order actually came with a quad sample of the Revealed palette. I also purchased this during a sale and so I’m not sure what the regular price is but if you check their website, they often have sales.

IMG_4776-0.JPGOnto the shadows, the eyeshadow pans are about a quarter sized and so of course bigger than what you’d get in the 252 Ultimate Palette which I have a review on here. They are also very smooth and pigmented but I always like to use an eyeshadow base just to make the colors pop and last longer.
This palette has a wide range of light – dark neutrals with some pinks, reds, purples, and oranges. I really love the dark metallics included also and I think you could get some beautiful combinations from just this one palette. My only con with this is that there is about 8 shades of pink, all slightly different, but a little unnecessary. They could’ve put in a light blue or green which isn’t in this palette at all.

(A few random swatches; no primer; 1-2 swipes)

IMG_4753-0.JPGThe Revealed sampler included a medium matte brown, and 3 metallic colors.

๐ŸŒนIf you haven’t checked out Coastal Scents eyeshadows, I don’t know what you’re waiting for! They’re affordable, good quality and especially great if you are a makeup artist and need a range of colors in your kit.

Valentines/Date Night Makeup Ideas

Valentines Day is right around the corner and whether you hate it or love it, it’s always a great excuse to dress up and go all out. Here are two makeup looks that are not only good for Valentines, but any date night as well!

โค๏ธLook 1
The first look is a lot of lighter shadows but with a double wing edge. Adding the extra wing is totally optional if it’s something your not comfortable with. But I really like the unexpected edge it gives to the look.

IMG_4745.JPGGet The Look:
All shadows from Lorac Pro Palette
1. I used Cream all over the lid.
2. Taupe in and above the crease using a fluffy crease brush.
3. Apply Gold blending it in the crease on top of Taupe.
4. Apply Champagne just below Gold and so a little is in the crease and a little on the lid.
5. I used Nude as a highlight, right under browbone.
6. I lined the waterline with Milani Shadow Eyez in Sand Dunes.
For the bottom wing I basically tried to get it as even and parallel to the top wing, you then just bring it straight down a bit.

โค๏ธLook 2
This is a more romantic, colorful look. I wanted to include a Valentine-y color and so went with a soft lavender.

Get The Look:
All colors from Wet N Wild ‘Lust’ Palette
1. I used the lavender color all over the lid.
2. Next, use the gunmetal color in the crease.
3. In the outer v of lid, I applied the medium plum color and blended it into the lavender.
4. I applied the gunmetal color in the waterline.

So these are the two easy, yet sultry eye looks I came up with for Valentines. I hope this inspired you!
XOXOXOXO michelle
